Save 80% on Retrologue 2 virtual analog synthesizer by Steinberg - Dec 18, 2025

Plugin Boutique has launched an exclusive Holiday Sale on Steinberg’s flexible virtual instrument which emulates the warmth and fatness of classic analog synthesizers.

On sale at an 80% discount, Retrologue 2 features 3 oscillators, a first-class set of filters, adaptable arpeggiator, powerful modulation system and FX rack.

Retrologue is more than a tribute to the classic analog heavyweights of the past. Packed into a straightforward interface, Retrologue brings back the sound of analog circuitry and vintage warmth, but with a modern twist. From raw analog lead and bass sounds to ephemeral, delicate pads and structures, dark drones and ultra-aggressive comps, Retrologue is a stunningly powerful yet versatile subtractive synthesizer with loads of sonic personality and that is potentially highly addictive.

Regularly $99.99 USD, Retrologue 2 is on sale for only $19.99 USD until January 4th, 2026. It comes in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats for Windows and Mac.

This is a good synth, but right now its crippled by too small (non resizable) GUI and the grey colour scheme does nothing to help that. However given Cubase has finally got resizable plugins, and the Retrolouge/Padshop GUI is constantly being complained about on their forums, I suspect early/mid 2026 we will see either a free or paid upgrade, depending on how much more Steinberg add to it. Given it already has quite a compliment of effects and a multiband resonator not sure what else they could add and yet stick to the analogue emulation roots of this synth.
Anyway, great synth totally worth $19.99 but not for peps with poor eyesight unless they want to wait a few months...

I suspect there won't be any further updates for this product; the low price suggests it's a clearance sale.

@techdevil, attached are three photos from Cakewalk - Sonar where you can clearly see the blurriness, as you aptly described. If it were a top-notch synth, we would have seen updates long ago; the last update dates back to 2018.

Oh I don't think its going anywhere.... it is Cubase's primary internal analogue synth built on Halion tech, sounds great and works perfectly, only issue is its GUI... No way they suddenly going to drop Retrolouge. The Cubase community would likely kill them, give it 6 months and an update will appear, be it a V3 or a simple update.
