We have been bombarded with relentless propaganda for the past 5 years, and it's probably been going on for a lot longer.

AI or LLMs are good at certain things and bad at others. That is not a lot different from people. It is a tool that can be used or abused.

You hardly ever know what is real or fake. AI does not change that. It might make it easier to mislead people, but it can also be a helper.
If you are willing to put in the work and check if the information it gave you is correct, it can be a time saver. But you should not expect it to do all the work for you.

When you are troubleshooting a problem using AI, the worst thing it does is scroll out way too much information all at one time. If you tell it to actually wait for your input before proceeding it will do that. Say you have a bash shell open, you want to input one command at the command line there, and get the output of it. Send that back to the AI, and have it move to the next step.

If you let it scroll out answers, that is similar to what it reads like when someone posts a big scrolled out solution to someone's question in one post. They see a wall of text and don't bother to read it, even though the answer would be right in front of their face, if they did. It's amazing that the ultimate tool for lazy people is still somehow too much work for them to read.

I can rewrite this in a plain, rustic Southern voice

Shoot, these days it’s hard tellin’ what’s real and what ain't. AI don’t really change that none. Sure, it can make it easier for folks to get fooled, but it can helps you out, too.

If you're willin' to put in a little elbow-grease and double-check what it tells ya, it can save you some time. But you can’t just sit back and expect it to do every bit of the work for you.

I am generally not a fan of AI especially where music creation is concerned, however it does have it uses for sure.

Take the original OP post, I totally 100% get what you are saying, BUT I look at it like this.

Before we had AI in its current form we had Google, Bing, Yahoo, AltaVista etc where we would type in our query in a search bar and get back replies based on crawler searches of information that was already on the web and we went from there. We all did this and still do but even that information wasnt 100% correct in a lot of cases but it did give us avenues to explore for further answers and possible solutions to the query.

When someone posts here looking for answers FOR ME I would welcome any type of reply be it actual experience (preferable) or AI, I believe again FOR ME I would rather have some sort of answer/reply to explore options than nothing at all.

On most of the AI answers I have received in my forum posts from people they have stated "This was an AI generation" so I have the choice to read it or NOT but I am more grateful that someone took the time to read my post and reply with something than to just pass my post by.

AI isnt 100% for sure but it can set us on a path of discovery to finding the actual answer we seek even if the AI reply didnt give us the actual answer we were looking for, also for some people searching themselves on an AI platform may not have popped in to there head at the time.

But I am with you in that for a lot of people (not saying anyone here) AI is the truth and gospel even if it does stop some people from thinking for themselves which I see a lot with my friends. Two of my closest friends chuck everthing in to AI to do the work for them.

Bullsh1t. Of course it is a viable option to ask a chatbot for hints to answer a question. The people that have questions did that already, assumed. Asking here means: does any of you has any experience with this or that? Again: as viable as Google or Bing is so is using an AI.

(The main problem with AI is the lack ob

Simple and short answers are the solution. And most of the time, those answers are more correct for forum type (non expertise) questions anyways.

Every day, the amount of data produced by humans grows! Every day, new musical and other technical devices are built and released. If something breaks or malfunctions, you'll probably first think about it or ask someone who knows about it. If you can't find anyone, you'll likely use Google to try and solve the problem.

If that doesn't work either, you'll probably ask a question in a forum or consult AI.
If you can't find an answer, you'll no longer be able to use the device in question.

In short, the world is becoming more complex every day, and computers and search engines are supposed to organize this complexity. In my opinion, AI is a direct consequence of this complexity.

I was talking back in the day :) but VERY happy I am not alone remembering this gem :)

Doesnt everyone generate 1.21 gigawatts to get back to 1995 when this beauty was bestowed upon us?

Most are. GPT can be terrible sometimes, especially because of the customization thing and logs storage. It creates a terrible bias based on the previous chats (which they gave wrong info BTW) and it just becomes a snowball of shit.

Since AI is mostly trained data, i'm using Gemini now (well, Google :dunno: i'm sure they got some data lol). Also, it was the one that gave me the most accurate answers.

i still dont understand, why there are even any AI answer here in this forum.

If the person, who wanted to know something, created a thread, why do other people answer with any AI answer?
I mean, could the creator of the thread not do this by himself?
    What is the point?

I usually come here to interact with other audio people, to solve things i cant solve on my own, to get new ideas, or to just exchange things.

If i see an AI answer, i usually just scroll over, because i can get this AI answer on my own ...

AI another further step into loneliness and isolation. Its sad imo.

EDIT: i recently searched something with google, its not something easy to find. But a few months ago, google did find results for it, not it shows only crap and its impossible to find the answers.

I think search engines get less used now and also less content created, because people use chatbots.
Thats only like 3-4months in between ...
Imagine this over a few years, if nobody produces anything new of value ... the internet will be an empty place ...

Saying they could or can't is semantics basically. Because the answer is they didn't. You might be amazed at how often a thread starter has not even checked Audiosex for an answer, never mind Googled it. We've had Google and other search engines available since the 90's, yet in 2025 people still have a difficult time finding information they are after because they create ineffective search strings. To create good search strings, someone needs to have a good idea of what they should be even looking up. It's not expected for everyone to have a copy of Google Hacking by Johnny Long sitting on their desk, but people waste hours sometimes trying to get a simple answer from Google.

Threads get created with many different motivations. Enough that it could be a topic of its' own. Just like why people use AI for anything. Some people just use it for formatting, because the AIs are all very good at it. It's all in spoiler tags anyway, so maybe the question should not be why such information is made available, but how hard is it for someone to scroll past a grey box on their screen without clicking it.
