I downloaded the new Charlotte de Witte album a couple of weeks ago. It's absolutely terrible in my opinion. Very, very boring, unoriginal, dated and generic, sounds like something from the 90s. I actually expected it to be decent to be honest but it turned out to be the most overhyped, overated album I've acquired this year. I'd give it 2/10, the extra 1 is because it's mixed and mastered ok... But not by her. :winker:

Well I probably have thousands of them and I don't think I've used a single one of them as I always synthesize them from scratch. So I guess the answer is absolute zero.

Andi Vax is actually a genuine guy - Andrey Vakhnenko. I've known him since the mid 2000s when he was doing SynSun. He runs a mastering studio these days (as well as spewing out sample packs).

His stuff is a bit too cheesy for my taste but he's got a catalogue...

Just wait until you do a file hash duplicate check of terabytes of sample packs and you discover how much is EXACTLY the same. It's quite amazing how these "companies" all appear to be the original designers of the same samples. I've even discovered whole packs repackaged and renamed with different brand names.

According to his Patreon he dropped volume 90 on 12 November "SIGNATURE SOUNDS VOL.90: I WANNA DANCE (TECHNO) [DOOF]" so PiRAT must be drip feeding us :(

I was convinced this would be a yank, but he's from Newcastle in England. Geordies are relentless which explains the hustle. Shout out the Toon.

@Will Kweks I was too young to be watching Bottom when it was on the telly, but it appealed to my basic brain. Watching it now in 2025/6 holy shit that show was dark in a way that I don't think we'll ever see again. RIP Rik Mayall

Greed, his need for recognition, and his 1000-volume-release cycle drive him.
He probably can't stop. He needs a new volume every few days to keep his ego in check.
It's not about quality, it's about quantity.
