I am trying to make a robotic bass line to compliment a darker sounding track that I am working on. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome!

Was gonna recommend similar,FM Basses and Vocoder or Talkbox. Or maybe even Massive depending.

Not sure what you want exactly. :dunno:

Lots of difference in Robot Bass.

I'm looking for a D-Jahsta or Jphelpz kind of sound. I don't want to necessarily copy the same exact sounds but I want that robotic emphasis in the music.

I'm looking for a D-Jahsta, JPhelpz or Twine style sound. I have always wondered how they got such crisp sounds that sound so robotic. Thanks for your help!

What Xsze and Pherexis said. There are so many ways to create "robotic bass". Automate and modulate many different parameters (both on the synth and on effects) to create interesting results. NI Massive has a quite characteristic sound, and will get "robotic" quite easily, if you know what to do.
Formant filters, multiband-distortions, samplerate degraders/bitcrushers, different filters in serial and parallel, layering, pitch modulation, wavetable modulation, tremolo/amplitude modulation, etc etc

Robotic is term based on a pop cinemátic culture, but its not robótic all. Only when they arise we will see if the make music :dunno:
Some multi FX plugs like turnado, efetrix or stutter can make easy for the novice know the resources and fast experiments, developing a taste or personal style. There is also some glitch FX thats suitable too.
Be aware that can be tricky to mix because the body of the instrument changes a lot, seams more an orchestral mix where the fragments arrange must sound as one instrument.
Humans that imitate machines that do not exist and probably will never.
When we will discover that wonderland is Only in our mind?
    Probably never Peter Pan! :wow:

    I too recommend a Vocoder.

There's dozens to choose from - free and $$
Ideally with dynamic controls for formant frequencies etc. and/or tempo-sync LFO's

I get it with the robot musician jokes... :bleh:
So basically I am using a vocoder with massive along with other dynamic effects to get different sounds? I currently use Logic Pro X for my DAW. A tutorial on routing my synths to a vocoder would be very helpful.
