For what it's worth, I usually get lazy and even sleepy after a large meal, so it's valid to me, haha

it wouldn't do anything to the kick at all because in that scenario he has the sub/bass and kick drum on a different bus, just acting as a trigger.
Maybe it is meant to be funny. I don't really see much reason to even use the kick instead of a separate midi channel, so you aren't depending on a continuous signal from an audio event. You can trim the midi notes to deactivate whatever you have sidechained to it whenever you want.

    Great tips

However, if you could say a few words to Nightwölf about shitty lyrics... I mean WTF is this LOL

    "Shadows fill the whole me
Your god won't hear you cry
    Wicked incarnation
    Only angels would defy"

Makes Manowar sound like Faulkner lol

    The room makes the sound.
Monitors do not reveal anything per se: how instruments should sound is learned by listening to music on them in that room. Exclusively.
    The midrange makes the bass.
    The midrange makes the highs.
    The midrange makes the sound.

Nodding with the head to the rhythm and looking very serious and professional while listening. This and checking the midrange. I treat my midrange so well, I do not do anything to it.
Always keep in mind: If it sounds gooey it's good, if it sounds harsh it's bad

Never ask friends or family for their opinions on your music. Most of the time they won't really say what they think for fear of upsetting or hurting you.

Bounce everything to audio. If a vst goes missing or wont load, at least you have the idea intact.

Maybe we should add to save all samples with the project so that you will not get in trouble if you delete some samples or you loose them for whatever reason. If everything is bounced, it would be included anyways, but still...

-on an amp plugin dial back the drive, the bass and the highs you gonna eq down anyway.
-if 2 or three drumloops or drum machines playing at the same time, make 1 lofi sounding. when sent to auxes, apply heavier delay on only one.
    - make mono under 150hz for brutal bass perception.
    - use 2 compressors on main vocals, one 1176 followed by an la2a.
    - use utility gain plugins on "hot" tracks and the master channel. dial back -6 -9db if needed so the meters never go higher than the fader.
    - some ppl use reverbs on the master
    - fast attack on a compressor is not your enemy. yeah it kills transients, but if everything is punchy the whole mix will sound like "punch mess"
    - a little drive can do magic even on jazz or itb classical productions.
    - duplicate pads tracks and change preset/sounds for a massive evolving pad heaven

The psychoacoustical effect is that the low frequencies of the the kick will be recognized much better in the mix. The sidechain bandwith should be around 30-100Hz, the expanded mid range depends on your material & the style you aim for, but it can be 800-7800Hz or everything above 1000Hz. Let your ears judge.

Indeed, that's what happens if you overdo it. The right amount of kick-triggered mid-expansion (rather 1 than 2 dB) will keep the kick in the mix, also for monitor systems that do not translate below ~50Hz - like most consumer setups. You can further increase or soften the impact with the expander's threshold, attack & release times.

No, if your overall frequency balance works fine, this shouldn't be a problem. Just give it a try.

Zynaptiq dev recommended this for his Adaptiverb plugin on gearspace. Indeed, it can glue the mix quite nicely.

Measure your room with EQ wizard <- FREE omnidirectional mic.
Build absorbers with stone wool and wooden planks, and sheet covers. put up on walls.
Make readings of room until curve is realtive good, it will never be perfect unless in a Dre. Studio....

And get good monitors. Usually expensive. 1500-4500 euro.

I have Adam A77H cost me 3000 euro then idk what price is now, but they changed the game.

But dont overlook acoustic treatment. Headphones are good for pin pointing frequencies but does nothing for your final mix/master being played at clubs. Sure you can do it with headphones.... but yeah, you need speakers and treatment.

Then find a scale you like and make music with it..
    Also mess around with FX.
    Gainstage properly.
    Be creative.
    Have fun.
Complete tracks even if they sound like crap, when you have done 100 tracks, they will be better. So keep going!
