In my opinion one of the most vexing issues with rar files is the checksum error, which prevents the extraction of data from the compressed folder. Don’t be concerned about files that are blocked. As a method you can keep the broken files, the benefit of selecting this option is that it overlooks, if there is any file corruption and assists in extracting the material from the zip folders. Initially you must have a winrar with a inbuilt option of fixing the checksum error and repair function. It never happened to me to encounter such problems cause I’m using only how to open RAR files on Mac , and it works properly well without bugs.

In the last 6 months I'm getting nothing but constant Checksum errors using Winrar, only on big files, Has anyone had any experience with this pain the ass? I ran a windows memory diagnostic but that told me nothing.

i used to get chksum errors due to usb issues, using teracopy fixed that. tick verify.. obviously use crc check on jdownloader also.
for my many broken rars i wish there was a workaround like feeding a broken crc to winrar. when selecting keep broken files it truncates the file after the error. specially for video where a false bit doesnt matter that much this would really help

 

Thanks AS, I tried the latest version but same Checksum errors. I have F*** all RAM left on my C: drive, perhaps this is the issue?

If there is no more free space on drive C:\, malfunctions and a decrease in speed will result.

That had errors too, but no even the VSL choirs library messed up on me. Which is weird because the smart Orchestra, which is a bigger library, unpacked without issue.

 

Surely that's not the size of the total files you're opening? I'd have opened some of the bigger libraries(50GB-150GB) in the past without issue, but my C: drive has been under 5 gigs for some time now so maybe this is the issue.

 

BBC Symphony Orch is still broken, even if one can somehow get past the archive errors... There are corrupted files which makes it broken anyway.
