Times like these made me miss Windows 7 so much... it wasn't perfect, there's like a myriad of ways to perform exploits and attacks through the system, but it was lightweight and actually works well enough to not become such a hassle, and the Aeroglass era of things was really interesting to say the least.

Transition from Windows 7 to Windows 10 was hard, but doable, but from Windows 10 to 11 is just a great struggle and not an option for music working machine. Windows 11 fits better on laptops it feels more natural to me, where i don't have to do some serious work, but for music production regarding menus and visuals it's to complicated, tiring, simply no go. To be fair Windows 11 in my case is much stable on my old sound card drivers (There is no official support anymore on firewire drivers for my card) , no BSOD like in Windows 10, but that is one and only thing and still not worth to go there even though Microsoft is persistent to do an upgrade. If there was no requirement for Cubase to have newer system than Win7, I would never abandon it.


And to add, while reading some comments regarding OS here on YouTube, Reddit etc. most people are being pushy for Linux. Okay I like it in some ways, but most audio apps are not natively Linux supported, so changing habits with new OS then new DAW which works on Linux, seriously is that a thing? Plug-ins, not to mention... I'm amazed when i see propositions like that, or Install Windows on Linux, so you can play games for example, wait, what!? Bro, install Windows straight away and use all of them resources from your PC. Nowadays Linux people are becoming similar to the Reaper users. We don't use Linux, we don't like Reaper, simple as that. If works for you, then nice I'm happy but for most people don't.
Unless you can natively run Windows apps on Linux, but that's gonna never happen.

Can you natively run mac apps on Windows ? An inappropriate request. windows is windows, Linux is Linux.
BTW you can run Windows apps on Linux via WINE (Wine Is NOT Emulator)

Daily and spontaneous.

That's the reason why I switched to Apple this year for productive environment. Kept a light windows machine for Gaming.
But I would freak out when Microsoft destroys days and nights of work on my DAW System.

MacBook is running without changes and problems.

Microsofts days for private or semi-productive customers are over.

They only care about business, Enterprise, AI and Cloud.
