Jimmy Cliff (born James Chambers on July 30, 1944 in Saint James Parish; died November 24, 2025) was a Jamaican reggae musician who became known for songs such as I Can See Clearly Now and Fundamental Reggay, as well as You Can Get It If You Really Want and The Harder They Come from the soundtrack album of the same name, and thus contributed to the worldwide breakthrough of reggae music.

The Jamaican musician made reggae famous worldwide. Among his biggest hits are "I Can See Clearly Now" and "You Can Get It If You Really Want." Cliff died at the age of 81. Reggae musician Jimmy Cliff has died.

He passed away at the age of 81 from complications of pneumonia, his family announced. "To all his fans around the world, please know that your support throughout his career was his strength," the family shared on social media. "He truly appreciated every single fan for their love."

The Jamaican contributed to the international breakthrough of reggae music with hits like "Many Rivers to Cross" and "You Can Get It If You Really Want." Bob Dylan is said to have once remarked that the song "Vietnam" was the best protest song ever written. The two-time Grammy winner is also credited with discovering Bob Marley.
