Hi Guys,

In short, I have subscription of - Macrium Reflect Home 10.0 (about to get Expired in few days)

I want good software for Imaging/Backup for Windows 11 -free

1) So, is there a way I can continue using Macrium - without subscribing ? maybe use offline without updates.
Can there be any workaround pls? Ex - Block it in host file etc.

2) If not, then pls suggest other Best imaging softwares which can do reliable backups

After the subscription expires, you can no longer fully use your backup software.
I've used many backup programs, some of which failed to restore backups. That's why I chose this program:

I had horrible experience with Acronis. Stay away from that unreliable software, that can loose all your data for a single bit flipped.

For now, i use Macrium and Paragon (both free) for SYSTEM backup :

For data only (not system partition), i use FreeFileSync.

Macrium free afaik was discontinued, so I don't think it's a good idea to keep using it if you care about restoring images sometime in the future. I was a Macrium user for years, but since then I have switched to Veeam. Still haven't "used" it for restoring a backup, but the process has been similar to Macrium and seems reliable. Takes a bit of work to get it downloaded, though, but it's free free.

I have been using EaseUS Todo Home for years (about 20?).
Purchased it for 2 computers at home & used that exclusively for about 8 years with I believe just one upgrade.
Since about 2020 I have used versions from brother site. (Friendly Sites @ Sister site)

Before that I purchased Acronis for use on on 2 business computers for some years, but on my personal PC maybe just purchased once.
At some point I found EaseUS, and found it a bit easier to use and also to control services and clean from context menu.
I restored well over 100 (probably less than 200) times using Todo, as I got SSDs and it was so quick.
As a hobbyist setting up multimedia systems on 3 different evolving computers using WinXP, Win7 & eventually Win10, I often used restoring instead of uninstalling programs, etc, because it kept the OS disk so "clean".
[edit: kind of a silly idea, unless there is a major problem to correct]

I am still using Todo, but also using RescueZilla since I installed Windows 11 in May.
Unfortunately I have been to lazy to restore any of the Rescuezilla backups after the first 4 I did for testing, so I don't have as much a feel for it, but reviews are good. It does what it's supposed to as well.

I can't recall offhand what is available at Friendly Site for Macrium, but when looking at RescuZilla Macrium was what I expected I would try...
I can't recally why i didn't.

Macrium 10 is warezed and cracked.
Macrium Reflect X v10.0.8665 WinPE
No problem getting it working without crappy subs.. Search around. Just get the WinPE iso and boot to it don't try backing stuff up with the OS live.

Just remember that version 8 and version 10 of Macrium produce backup files that aren't compatible with one another. Personally, for win11 I'd use Macrium 10 as a WinPE boot iso.

@saccamano - tried searching "Macrium Reflect X v10.0.8665 WinPE" - its not there yet in rutrack*** / have found 1 download from Appnee not sure how tested / safe it is . Thanks though

I think I will give up - just buy Macrium again in Black friday offer with new email ID (hope that wont be issue)

 

@saccamano - Interesting that ive found "AppNee.com.Macrium.Reflect.X.v10.0.8665.WinPE.iso"
- scanned it on Virustotal - is it All Green with 0 flags :/

 

Go to FCPortables dot com and do your search.
And for restoring is better Strelec WinPE, it has all you can desire and much more.

I use Paragon Hard disk manager for Disk backups and AOMEI Backupper for files and imaging. Paragon has along history of success and has adapted to changes in operating systems. It has never failed for me.

 

Interesting. What is the deal with this site? Is it "free" or is it just original software made portable after approval of the original software company?

Quick query - PE version of a software is fine to install on Normal windows 11 ? or can it be incompatible

You don't install WinPE (Windows Portable), you boot it temporarily from a flash drive, overriding your original Windows.
