So I will spoil the party ... I have and had zero (in arabic numbers: 0, sorry, there is no Roman variation for "zero") problems with Win 11 and no problem with any update. I am like: What the f they are talking about?

(I am in no way affiliated with Microsoft or anyone or anything related to them in any shape or form.)

I've never had any Windows 11 specific issues. Installed Linux a few weeks ago and even the simplest task of installing a plugin is a whole process... I don't understand all the hate for Windows, everything simply works.

It's not a hate really more than it is a disgust for most of us to have to deal with REMOVING spyware, ad generation and useless updating, etc, etc, in a operating system that is supposed to be one of the only two systems really being supported to any degree by production software dev's...

Apple has it's own stuff going on with it that I only hear about second hand - but from what I hear it's a similar situation as with the windows side. The windows side can be "tweaeked" (win11 included) to remove most if not all of the "offending" operational and superficial garbage. I don't know if that's really doable on the apple side :dunno:

Linux, IMO is just too obtuse for production or even every day use. Some like messing around with the OS all the time to get it to do things that just, as you say "work", in windows or apple os. I am not one of those tinkerers at this point in time. I just need to get work done and leave it.

I think the hatred is not due to issues — in fact, everything works pretty well —, but rather to annoyance at Microspoof's stubbornness in systematically replacing everything that is very convenient with absurdities that are no longer convenient at all.

I'm no longer willing to let Microsoft treat me like a scavenger. A few years ago, I experienced timeouts after an update.
I then disconnected my music PC from the internet and connected a different one.

Last year, after Microsoft announced changes I liked, I decided to finally stop updates altogether. Enough is enough!

As long as it doesn't affect you personally, you'll keep writing

    - I've been using Windows my whole life and never had any problems!

But as soon as you lose 1 sample from Vengeance Essential House Vol. 1 because of Microsoft, you'll get angry and shout that

    - Windows is shit!

No you don't have to "live" with it. The so-called "updates" on the win side are 99% garbage and telemetry exchange. That's it. Why do you think that I (and many many others) have had internet builds stemming back to WinXP that I NEVER let updaters fuck around with and they were perfectly operating machines all the way up to now with win10. If/when a REAL patch for a virus threat or some other serious anomaly was/is required, the patches were/are DL'ed and applied as needed - which I think amounted to like 6 or 7 actual patches in like 15-20 years of perfect running machines on the internet.

As far as linux goes, I just don't have the time to constantly be teaching an operating system what I need to have done. It's enough of an operatic drama just keeping the things working in the first place.

Heh. Yep... Everything before the NT based systems hit (starting with win2k) were complete doggy doo. Basically just mediocre DOS gui's. Of course Win2k was kind of an island unto itself but it did set the stage for XP (and the rest) which was a vast improvement over any other win version of the period. I tried NT for production use at the time, and it was a complete fail.

Well this has explained the bugs I've seen at work.

Honestly it's just appeared as an inconvenience for me. the clock keeps freezing on a screen. Not always the same one and there's 3 screens so it's just annoying and nothing more.

Still thanks for letting me know this is why.

As most of you know, sine I was asking for advice here last month, my home, hobby and most of my family's computers are still win10.
Just the company i work for updated my work machine.

The Microsoft update is for Windows 11, but you have Windows 10, if I understood you correctly.
Are you currently experiencing any computer problems?

Windows 10: Adjusting the Time and Date

Normally, Windows 10 automatically synchronizes the date and time with the internet, so the information should always be correct. However, if errors occur or you move to a different time zone, you can manually set the date and time:

    1. To do this, right-click on the clock in the bottom right corner of the taskbar.
    2. In the context menu, select "Change date/time."
    3. Set "Set time automatically" to "Off" and then select "Change."
    4. Now, enter the date and time manually and save your changes by clicking "OK."
