….so for this one, i was sitting on the couch the other day watching netflix with my girlfriend, when her phone started ringing. her ringtone is “La ragazza di Trieste Seq.6” by Liz Ortolani, from this old romance film she likes - i was still thinking of how to approach this at the time and it dawned on me when i heard it, that it would be perfect to sample that string arrangement and rearrange it: like how the strings are rearranged for the performative art in the photo. i wish it was deeper than that but it just came together really easily this month, so i just went with it

i recorded this interpretation entirely on my new Akai MPC Live 3; its my first MPC, so im still learning it but its dope and so easy to catch a vibe with, i love it. only other thing i used was my Yamaha BB bass guitar, which i plugged into the MPC - i did upload the arrangement to Logic for the post production stuff though. but yeah, i had a lot of fun and impressed my girl with this, so thanks

@Grape Ape .. Outta the gate!

At the get go your piece gave me a feeling of nostalgia. The music soundtracked for me a combination of memories that I have where the photograph was taken, Spring Street in NYC as well as imagining the impetus of the action caught the moment of that frozen scene. I've walked past that spot thousands of times but never had thought about who/what the Fluxus Street Theater were/was and what specifically they were goings on about in the neighborhood.

Then it became for me what one might hear at a long ago carnival, the piped music designed to keep your eyes wide open, to augument curiosity and perhaps pique interest to the secretive mysterious goings on behind side show curtains, to enhance the overall sensory experience.

    Nice!!

@vuldegger .. I'm sorry to correct you but the genre is officially called "Mad Bird Phunk as per Theodus McGillicutty, author of the seminal and highly regarded "Call It, Mutherfukker". It's even on the syllabus of hundreds of university Musicology departments around the globe so I guess that he's an authority on the subject. Also in addition, Jade 8's review in Electronic Musician magazine of your song didn't once refer to it as being crap, and I really think that she rather liked it..."This is Vuldegger's seminal work. He expertly juxtaposes varied complicated emotions to convey the immediacy of being, the ever changing wave that washes over the unsuspecting songbather when immersing in his potent ocean of composition".

    Whatever that means?

Thanks @capitan crunch for your free and valuable musical contribution. A true modern FLUX song, it hits the nail on the head.

@Lois Lane oh cool, i do remember you telling me you lived in NYC now that you mention it, you had a cab job at one point. i lived in Brooklyn after i first got signed and started stacking money for the house i bought here, i loved it. my apartment wasnt shit but i was always outside anyways because there so much going on. ive also been all over Manhattan but ive never seen that, ive actually never heard of Fluxus till i read that article - i get it though, i tried getting in to that art scene in Tribeca, just as like as a fan of visual art, going to gallery shows almost every night. its EXTREMELY elitist, ive never met people with such ego’s and the gatekeeping is crazy

i still do try to go to a gallery every time im in NYC because they have the best ones imo in the country but….it would be extremely tough trying to break into the art world there, harder than the music business i think. so i totally get how a movement like Fluxus could start (i actually read articles from artsy.net pretty often too)

.....anyways, big luv my friend and thanks for hosting

Grazie @PulseWave I.m going to edit out the first YUUKO vocal bit. I destroyed her beautiful voice, but it wasn't necessary and I don't like it there. Thank God this is a friendly non-contest. In Nashville they Might have found my body thanks to a Cumberland River carp fisherman.

Fluxus - Interactive Music - Basic Movement Course

I tried to create a piece that encourages the listener to move to the music, essentially a fitness program in the spirit of Fluxus.
I used my own presets from Spectrasonics - Omnisphere and TubeOhm - D Rack VSTi, as well as text reader software for the lyrics.

Third and final edit..NEW LINK to Edit
    Hi All!
For this one I started off with an am radio noise loop and I picked 20 or so kontakt libs. It's in Gm harmonic, but I had Yuuko sing some G#s to give it that Fluxus feel.

Let's just say third time's a charm... i cut some boring shit out and gave the master buss a face lift with Sir Audio and friends, changed the confusing ending to something less confusing perhaps.
I generally recommend listeners to enjoy some good ice cream, but it's getting a bit wintery and a vin brule' sounds like a more appropriate combination.

You're never gonna do it without your fez on, oh no...that's what I am....

The video might be art if it satisfies the criterion..."expression of ideas and emotions through a physical medium". If the befezzed man's (I get the distinct impression that this is you, LOL) performance was meaningless and just for fuck's sake, then no. However, the lone video of the account has attached a manifesto...Organic Electronic Music. Dive into a world where nature meets circuitry. Alabama Vulcan Party is your destination for organic electronic music—tracks that blend warm analog textures, experimental rhythms, and evolving soundscapes.
