    "Resale prohibited" probably?

There is still a fourth of that kind sleeping, named "Halion", in need of a sample library from this millenium. Time for Yamaberg to buy the few 3rd party libs available, bribe some companies to go from Kontakt to Halion and make us an "Absolute" offer we can't refuse.

    Royalty Free Soundset License
All ' Sonic Sirius ' Freeware Soundsets they can be used commercially in
things like movies, games, and anything else you might need a cool
sound for. You may not however redistribute them for a profit.

Hello @timer, thanks for the information and your new coinage, "Yamaberg."

Usually, it works like this: a sound designer works on behalf of Steinberg, or a sound designer offers a soundset for Halion on the open market. When commissioned by Steinberg, you lose all rights to your soundset.

Anyone who has used Falcon with a lot of libraries knows it suffered up to and including version 3 of the same thing Analog Lab used to suffer from..

If you have a lot of libraries it reads every library on load unless you go into preferences and turn the reading off. That's fine but the moment you search, it will go dog slow again and re-read the indexation. If they fixed this, then that's a great change. If not, then there are plenty of other competitors that do not suffer from this horrible loading mechanism.

With a good NVME hard drive, i don't see that much problem.
I put all my intense libraries (kontakt, Falcon, nexus ...) on it.

I have 141 uvi falcon libraries on my HDD
with Windows 10, and now that I've tried the falkon version, it runs much faster than the falcon version. I recommend it. All versions are R2R.

The recent “Falkon” post in the museum has me thinking I already have a way to run both versions, instead of two versions running in the same system, I just have the version up to date on my Mac and windows has the previous version that can see all the libraries, I just run the different versions on their corresponding hardware and now I’m kinda craving the phase distortion oscillator again

A rework of the for me chaotic browser, would be my favorite over all other new features for Falcon.
The rest is good already once learned how to build own instruments and stuff.

I have a purchased version; perhaps the current data, including the attached changelog, will help you further:

    UVI - Falcon - Version: 26 | Updated: 16/10/2025

    Falcon Factory - Download - 966.7MB
    Falcon Factory rev2 - Download - 1.1GB RAR format
    TagLibrary - Download - 2.5GB RAR format

Agreed something needs to be done. Falcon simply has far too much stuff in its browser, with endless nested trees and tiresome vertical scrolling

I have spent years in Omnisphere and never produced anything, just spent my time playing with their over processed presets. Most of them fill all the space and there is no significant space left. Their UI is a waste of space in tons of sub-screens. And, the closing point, is the presets keyboard mapping. It's so inconsistent between presets, that you have to switch each time to keyboard mapping screen to see how it is meant to be played.
After all these years, I decided to go the Falcon way and to buy the strict amount of extensions that I use in my style and not spending my time in a mess of 10's of musical styles.
And, at the end of the end, Omnisphere doesn't have additive synthesis which Falcon has and I use a lot

Limiting Falcon to a samples bank player and comparing it to others sample oriented players (which Omnisphere is), is missing half of the concept. The other synthesis half, has to be compared to the upcoming Zebra 3. You have both sides in a single product. At actual BF prices, it's a very serious deal.

Falcon and Omnisphere 3 are both hybrid instruments. Both have a fully-fledged, advanced synthesizer built in.
Both have excellent sound. Both have the ability to load samples.

Quite high-end, outstanding for professional musicians working with game music, film scores, and other professional music.
The Zebra performs at a high level of quality, even among the very best.

I tried them all for years (including Zebralette 3), I can definitely say that if need to keep a single one for simplicity, it's Falcon. No doubts. It can easely be compared against a qualitative mix of synths.
