Has anyone been able to unzip it? I keep getting the error message “file is corrupt” or “error while unzipping.”

This is what i get : E:\Spitfire BBC\286075\Spitfire Audio BBC Symphony Orchestra Professional v1.7.0 [WiN]\BBC.zip.001
    BBC.zip
    Header errors
    Start of archive not confirmed

Try updating 7-Zip or WinRAR to the latest version

    I am downloading now.
It is going to take longer to unzip than to download.
I think you need to wait until tomorrow for reports back.
I have paid rapidgator and debrid but I think I should have waited for a torrent for something this big.
Jdownloader is slower than firefox download.
Unzipping on my slow computer but will report back.
I'm still worried about putting the file in directory of my Daw

Use the 'Test' option from Winrar to test the files for error. If there is a problem with a file or two, re-download these specific files.

When I unzipped I got a ton of errors (438) like this:
Headers Error : Spitfire Audio BBC Symphony Orchestra\Samples\_Woodwinds\BBCSO_AUNTIE_BASSOONSA3_LONGTRILLMAJ2_RR1_MO01.spitfire
So I installed anyway Reaper portable and Windows 10.
Just missing the Bassoon and part of the Clarinet. Everything else seems fine.

Any news as yet about this massive package being repaired? Seems an awful lot of people feel they have been duped into downloading this.

I seem unable to continue extraction , getting errors in the first zip file.
I guess the errors you get allow you to continue?
    I can't see how.
I do see that the archives are no longer available, so perhaps something is being done.

I used NanaZip, which will continue unpacking the rest of the archive beyond the errors. As stated in the release comments, the failed files are related to a few Bassoon and Clarinet instruments. Most people won't be bothered by this, and perhaps the uploader (or someone else with the full library) can pack those specific files for replacement. Otherwise, its a negligible error....unless you can this library specifically for those missing samples.

I really wish the sister site listed the correct checksums for releases (and that releases themselves also came with checksum files).

Absolutely. Bassoons and clarinets have been a core part of orchestras for a while now (200+ years), plus, if you are downloading a library half a terabyte in size, might as well have all that's included...

As for why it's down: Uploader said it was looking into those missing files and will likely have to upload it all over again. That or Spitfire already DMCA'd the upload. Either way, just wait until it shows up in the tracker, because a library this size can only viably be downloaded through there.

Hopefully the OG uploader will have mercy and provide the missing files rather than up the whole thing again. Or both.

If you're having trouble - try putting the patch not in the root but instead onto your desktop.

Everyone has a right to be concerned about Patch.dll. Load it up into a disassembler or debugger in a VM. Maybe it can VM Escape. You never know these days. Does the darn thing even reference Spitfire in any capacity? Is it a network emulator of some sort? Who knows! :guru:

Good to see that the download is available again.
In the meantime I followed some advice and downloaded Spitfire Symphony Orchestra (+ updates) from Ru Tracker.
Smaller at 334 Gig, but WOW! :woot:
For professionals there may be benefit to the BBC, but for a hobbyist like me it is all too amazing.
I am downloading it to see, though

OK - I got it all set up and it's working for me on Win11 25H2 in:

    Studio One v7.2.3
    Reaper v7.5.3
FL Studio v25.1.6 -- At first it showed with an error in the Plugin Scanner, so i chose "Synth" in the Plugin Scanner and it worked fine.

It also opens fine in SaviHost, once you put a copy of "patch.dll" in beside the VST3.
(I created a "Spitfire Audio" folder in which to place them.)

There's a new set of upload files now so apparently the unarchive process is no longer an issue.

Personally I wouldn't bother with a direct account to any FFS - too expensive for what you get. Roll with a debrid instead. REAL is the best value IMO, since it does torrent as well as the direct download FFS stuff. Pay with privacy dot com or some other proxy payment thing so your financial info is kept out of the picture.
