I have to keep this in mind for the future. I've been using Localsend which is as fool-proof you can get, and it also runs on pretty much everything (fairly current). I use it to transfer files from phones and tablets to my computers and vice versa, and it's a handy way to share shit when someone comes around as there's no configuration to be done, just press send and receive.

Not the most featureful piece of software, but I like the simplicity.

 

@Will Kweks Warpinator does exactly the same thing, except this application is built into Linux Mint, I don't have to install anything

 

More than that, I suggest in Options-General to enable folder context menu, for some reason it's not factory enabled.

I see no one has yet mentioned DNScrypt. I just installed it about a week ago and I'm scratching my head why I didn't do it sooner. If you really care about privacy, (ISP's snooping on your DNS requests) and blocking crap all over the internet. You should take a look.

 

Who'd tell me the best utility to repair an admin password if it's lost/forgotten (Win7/64)?

Huh, I didn't know there was a public alpha, so I installed it. Be aware that it doesn't replace any existing installation so all of your shortcuts (keyboard or otherwise) launch the older version. I've no idea if the background service will get confused, it seemed to do some extra indexing.

Anyways, everybody should be using Everything and kill the Windows Indexing Service (well, unless you know you need it for those rare filetype indexers) for a massively improved Windows experience.[
