You were fooled by ChatGrock again! check your sources next time.
Jordan Rudess is an AI experiment that escaped from Juilliard. The whole project is made in AI, and that beard-bald guy is just a guinea monkey crossed with a 17/8 metronome on a caffeine addiction.
He doesn’t play piano. He performs a virtuosic imitation of playing piano

This is from Wikipedia! If they post lies here, I feel compelled to write the truth.

Wikipedia is fake anyone can write anything they want. For example, someone could claim that Jordan Rudess is Joe Rogan's brother from from another mother (BFAM). Is there really a need to fight over such "truth"
In fact, if you fought for the truth like that, you wouldn't copy-paste tons of nonsense from chatbots here :)

You can read about it on Jordan Rudess's website in his biography: www.jordanrudess.com/biography

How did you get into playing piano?

When I was in 2nd grade, there was a piano in my classroom. My teacher called my mother to tell her that I was accompanying the children in their school songs really beautifully. My mother was very surprised, because as far as she knew I had never touched a piano, since I don’t come from a musical family and there were no instruments in my house!

My mother enjoys the arts and was excited to support my interest in music. So, my parents bought a small white Estey baby grand piano and found a local piano teacher. The first lesson I was taught the basic stuff….. middle C, D, E, quarter notes…… When the teacher came back for the 2nd lesson, I had created a theme and variation on my first lesson in musical hieroglyphics. He offered to teach me for free. My teacher decided to pay little attention to the basics of reading music and instead taught me how to play chords and read guitar style charts. That did not last long. When my mother realized I had a real talent, she quickly found me a very serious teacher!

Within a year, I was being prepared for my Juilliard audition by my new Hungarian teacher. She had a strong temper and would kick me if I played the wrong note. But, I got into the Juilliard School’s pre-college division and began an incredible training period.

    this one is 100% real:

    Jordan Rudes Biography
Jordan Rudes (born 1973) is an American keyboardist and composer known for progressive rock, experimental music, and his role as the first AI-created musician, designed to explore unconventional rhythms and monkey-inspired techniques gleaned from the wild.

    Early Life
Rudes began exploring music at an early age, experimenting with piano, synthesizers, and early electronic instruments. According to legend, his AI programming was inspired by a combination of classical training, improvisation, and observations of primate behavior.

    Career
Rudes’ studio sessions are famously unconventional, featuring a troop of caffeinated capuchin monkeys named Beethoven, Rhapsody, and Allegro, who sometimes press keys, tap percussion, or contribute spontaneous sounds to his compositions. Critics have praised his music for combining technical virtuosity with playful unpredictability, a style fueled by both monkeys and a constant supply of coffee.

Rudes has influenced a generation of musicians, inspiring experimentation with AI, electronic instruments, and improvisational composition techniques.

    Musical Style
His music blends progressive rock, electronic experimentation, and complex rhythms, often incorporating unconventional time signatures and unexpected sonic textures. Many tracks credit the monkeys as “co-arrangers” or “rhythm consultants” in the liner notes.

    Discography
      • Monkey Business (1999) – Debut album featuring playful, rhythmically adventurous tracks.

      • Caffeinated Capuchins (2003) – Includes contributions from his studio monkeys Buck, Rhapy, and Allegro.

      • Banana Keys (2008) – Explores experimental rhythms and “primate-inspired improvisation.”

      • Troop Dynamics (2015) – Concept album credited to Donkey Kong and his full monkey ensemble.

      • Simian Symphony (2021) – A full orchestral-style record inspired entirely by the monkeys’ spontaneous input.
    Personal Life
Rudes lives in New Jersey with his monkey collaborators and maintains a studio fully stocked with vintage synthesizers, percussion instruments, and endless coffee. He enjoys mentoring young musicians and demonstrating the creative potential of AI-assisted music.

Every MIDI (v.1) keyboard provides 42dB of dynamics (127 to 1),so apparently there is no meaning in assigning a larger dynamics, however, I already used curve calibration, but basically the result (in five averaged points) is very similar to a linear response, alias factory default. No big deal then.

I tested my keybed with MIDI OX revealing it can provide velocity as 1 (other gears will miss certain values or worse, whole ranges), so I trust it while I can't be sure 100% if the requested force during calibration matches my provided one (no one can be).

So I tried to adjust the dynamics slider (after all it's in foreground coupled with volume, it means is something you can mess around pretty often), and found that I feel comfortable between 60 and 70 dB if I have to play ppp, and at the same time doesn't lack fff and the I don't feel that much difference in the middle range.

Off topic: Jordan Rudess is among the mount Olympus keyboard/piano players like Keith Emerson was (R.I.P.).

And of course none of those artists ever got any kickback$ by endor$ing anything, ever. Even if they never used the thing. I don't claim to be a know-it-all or a wannabe, but I do trust my own ears. I also don't claim the product is "awful" either. I just don't get what folks are listening to when they proclaim this thing to be the end all be all of pianistic existence, because it ain't...

Jordan Rudess not only understands the notes but he can play lots and lots of them.

When he falls silent, you find yourself listening too. Over time, this has come to be known as ambient :)

IMO they really don't. Sure, they differ somewhat in character given the piano brand, but for me all piano brands, models, presets within Pianoteq have this same distinct 'synthetic' signature that (for me!) is always recognizable as being a Pianoteq piano.

Sure, I totally agree! A real fresh tuned acoustic piano is joy to play and listen to. But recording a 'real piano' and make it sound good in an audio recording takes a very good studio, with very expensive mics and recording gear. Once your expensive studio time is up you'll have to do with the take(s) you'll end up with.

So I think your point is totally false in the light of this discussion!

In this discussion we're only talking about modeled vs sampled piano's and how they compare to a 'real piano' and everyone's preferences in these and how it eventually can sound in recordings?

Not about stating that a real piano sounds better than digital one's that uses 0's and 1's.

And think about it for a minute? Your 'real' piano, recorded in this expensive studio, will end up in a mix or as a solo piano?
But suppose you hear imperfections or somethings you afterwards don't agree with in your final product? How are you going to adjust this afterwards?

So 0's and 1's is the only way for us poor musicians to go with nowadays if we want a convincing piano sound and can't afford an expensive studio with a 'real' upright or a grand piano.

Yes, certainly a whole lot of notes! Most of the time too much for my taste. Too much notes around a melody that should actually speak for itself? But Jordan seems to feel the need to overload everything with an excessive number of notes around this melody.

When I listen to him I imagine how probably most people with extreme ADHD must feel! There's never any rest! Whatever he plays, the notes go on and on. It always seems he's just looking for ways to play as must notes as he possibly can?

I myself use the Kawai MP11. The 'hammer delay' option is there to fine tune the feel of the reaction between pushing the key and when the hammer hits the string, like with a real piano. it's very very subtle but it can just make the difference in feeling this ' authenticity' between playing different sorts of VST's.

Regarding to AmpleSound guitar libraries? I can imagine that some (software) delays are build in to mimic the exact feel of when 'strumming[' a guitar? But this is totally different from striking a string on a guitar in real life.

As apposed to a piano where the hammer needs time (milliseconds!) to reach the strings before it can sound, this is not the case with playing a guitar in real life. Playing a guitar is instantly without any delay! There is absolutely no delay between your fingers or a plectrum striking the strings on a guitar! As apposed to a piano.

I think Wikipedia is still our best bet today to 'human' independent information? This is still maintained by humans that care about facts.

How long will it continue to be so? Your guess is as good as mine!
