i'm happy with Ableton, produce and mix with, but when comes to editing especially vocals i find PT way more efficient (strip silence, clip gain line, Audiosuite/OFFline processing) i'm very familiar and used to these, and it makes my life easier, not begging for teams to crack PT as many may say, in fact i'm happy with PT 12.5AU from 2016 as long it still works, don't even need these new features and dark GUI of recent updates... but it's a welcome update if it ever happens (this is a personal preferences that apply to me, tried Cubase, Reaper, Studio One you name it... never liked them ) now i'm happy with Ableton and PT12.5 hoping windows doesn't cut support for such old program.

Guys... this is not a PT / best DAW / request thread. Given the recent releases and information R2R has provided, comments should really only be related to the "2025 gong" and nothing else. You can utilize relevant existing threads or use PM for these other discussions. Lets try to stay on topic yeah

I'm guessing the gong are all the crow hill releases... honestly I really am starting to think UAD plugins DSP and Native are just impenetrable

Hello to my fellows scroungers!. I am starting a petition to begin a lawsuit against R2R for wasting our time with false promises causing sleepless nights and potential stress trauma. If I get enough signatures I will be galvanized to pay for legal proceedings.
Let us go guys! We shall overcome!

As soon as one Crow Hill product appeared it's pretty much a guarantee all of them will be coming.

Many users' comments were removed simply because they were off-topic. Your opinions are largely shared, but that's not the thread. Many years have passed since 2021, and perhaps in 2025, 10 years after the legendary release of AudioUTOPiA, R2R will decide to release their Pro Tools. Who knows, maybe we'll be so lucky on this Gong 2025. Pro Tools is the only DAW R2R has never ever released in his entire legendary and super long career, so his time will come and the circle will be complete. The only question is when.

In my opinion it will be Avenger 2 instead, along with all its little Pokémon inside...

And I think you might be right. A German company with a lot of super expensive expansions, which look just like pokemons in their form. We'll see if you're right.

it's pretty difficult to take any little guy developer with so many plugins for sale very seriously. When someone is “small” but has a giant catalog, it undermines the credibility of each plugin. It suggests the plugins exist because it’s easy to pump them out, not because the developer actually solved a problem or brought something new to the table. And because audio software is a field where quality, reliability, and DSP integrity matter, that kind of shotgun release strategy makes it hard for anyone to take the developer seriously.

A tiny developer pumping out a huge pile of plugins makes no sense because real DSP work takes time. One or two people don’t magically have the man-hours to build dozens of legit products. So when they’re cranking out plugins like a candy factory, it usually means they’re slapping new GUIs on the same recycled code, pumping out low-effort wrappers, or otherwise cutting corners. The output volume alone tells you the plugins probably aren’t deep, original, or properly engineered. It’s just not how actual, serious audio development works.

Bloat is the natural byproduct of this kind of “spray-and-pray” development. When a tiny developer tries to look big by churning out tons of plugins, the catalog fills up with weak variations, half-finished ideas, duplicated functionality, and gimmicks. Nothing gets refined; everything just piles up. The result isn’t a mature product line, it’s digital clutter. And that clutter exists because they’re producing faster than they can actually engineer, maintain, or support. Like Acustica :)

The exact opposite happens with AlexB (very often the upgrades are great for the OG libs) that Giancarlo choose to ban from the map to build his own shady business :bleh:

Look how slowly UA are porting their own dsp products to native versions. PA have somewhat of a decent reason because they are an umbrella for so many small devs. But there is so much overlap just within the BX branded plugin line. Arturia's team photos look like the xmas cards the Chicago Mafia used to send the police; and they do not even pump stuff out like that. Waves have something like 100 programmers working there. You might even guess this is why R2R are even sharing the Crow Hill products.

I personally think that's "healthy" that R2R shares this type of products for one simple reason, i didn't see trials in "The Crow hill" website, well i guess it won't be for library unless it's a stripped version as a taste maybe lite but there's not, so we can try and see if it's worth our money if we ever decide to support the devs, second: i think their stuff are not for everyone or average producers, they're kinda "specialty" type of libraries so i don't believe this dev will be "crushed" because their products was k'd, real enthusiasts who generate money from film scoring and sound design will pay to buy their libraries and will not keep waiting for the next to appear in sister site, take me for example i downloaded the string and drum library, it is not for what i do, decided it's not for me so i uninstalled , so thanks R2R for the "trials".

Out of curiosity, how many folks do still hope for UAD to land towards the end of the month?

Hope springs eternal, as the saying goes!

Most dreams stem from a lack of cash. Some dream of winning the lottery in the millions.
In other words, some users probably dream of finding UAD under the Christmas tree. Some dream of Pro Tools.

I guess this depends on your perspective, indeed. They look like toys to me. Cosmos could be something made by Puremagnetik. The EP will probably not hold up to the stock EP in Logic or Lounge Lizard. This Demon Drop thing looks like another toy, maybe it will contain some hits from kb6, goldbaby, and Drum Machines from Mars. These are to "serious film score and sound designers such as yourself" what MS Paint is to graphic designers. Enough with the Larping.

"Going down the rabbit hole into our new multi-effect plugin. We have extracted 'Key FX' from Crow Hill instruments, such as Demon Drops, Circuit Drums, and Concussion. We thought this feature was being wasted only on percussion instruments, so we have made it available to use on anything!" read: We thought we could get some more money from some re-used code.

Tried a couple of the crow hill's - dot allison and that "cosmos" thing. The dot allison one is a nice idea that seems incomplete. Basically sounds like a mellotron only with voice. Kept looking thru that cryptic gui for the "rest" of the plugin, but nope. As far as a small granular synth goes (cosmos) there are way better ones out there with a lot more going for them.

The "crow hill" stuff is IMO just more flotsam in a sea of flotsam. not really even worth the bandwidth that it takes to dl it... no idea why R2R or other witches would waste time on it...

Avenger has already been seen on the scene. The Witches have said about something that has never been seen on the scene before.
Anyway, I understand that it's funny bet on the next gong, but the Witches have spoken clearly: ‘Sacrifice the Ivory libraries to welcome Black Friday.’ In other words, if no one shares their libraries, we won't see any gong on BF, whatever it may be.
