Well, took the plunge and.... WOW. Nice sounds.

The process (R2R) was very simple and straight forward. I had a fully updated functioning O2 installed along with latest Stylus, Trilian, and Keyscape.

-all I did was uninstall O2 and do the recommended R2R "cleanup" - getting rid of the old vsts/aax/license etc...
-left the v2 STEAM lib alone by default as it was moved to a different drive due to its size
-ran the installer (as admin)
-installer ran and completed
-called up the standalone instance of O3 and proceeded to the auth phase (O3 pissed and moaned about the STEAM folder not being updated)
-copied challenge code to KG and generated/pasted the response code to O3 auth panel
-restarted O3 (still complained about STEAM folder no being updated)
- O3 up and running OK - no auth issues whatsoever

- unpacked version 3 STEAM lib
- copied STEAM v3 to current STEAM v2 folder and overwrote dupe file names
- Fired up O3 in Protools 12.5HD - O3 working fine
- Fired up O3 in Cubase 14 - O3 working fine
- Fired up O3 in Nuendo 14 - O3 working fine
- Fired up O3 in Reaper 7.52 - O3 working fine

No issues found with Stylus, Trilian, or Keyscape. All three libraries load in O3 just as in version 2.

[EDIT]; a couple hours later after updating from O2 to O3 the witches let loose of Omni v3.0.1c. That installed without a hitch as well. Didn't even ask for re-auth.

How about third-party libraries? Luftrum, The Unfinished, Xenos and the likes? That's one of the main reasons I haven't dived in yet, pretty sure I've read at least once that they should be updated for Omnisphere 3 before they open there. If that's the case and they don't any time soon, you will have problems with projects using them. Also, are you able to save presets?

 

I had 2 third party libraries installed and they were both from O2. They are present and accounted for in O3 and they come up under "user directories". They are both functioning perfectly. If there are some third party ones that require updates they are ones I am not using... These two I am running didn't require anything. As for saving presets/patches, O3 saves and recalls patches just like O2 did.

Run the software. Authorization starts.

Click "REQUEST AUTHORIZATION". Your browser opens.

Tips : URL is also available in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Spectrasonics\rhurltemp.html"

Run our keygen.
Select a product you want to activate.
Copy ChallengeCode from URL (the value of "ch") to the keygen.
(In the case above, "SmMY%256QnT%3dXyx38KlPUBqkTBx%3fB8" is a ChallangeCode.)

Click "Generate" in the keygen. License will be generated.
Copy the license from keygen.
Click "PASTE" in the software.
Click "CONTINUE" in the software.
Done, restart the application.

I can't run the omnisphere fx vst3 version in studio one. Says it's not authorized. The vst2 version works though. Anybody else experience this?

Yes, patches with the same name appeared in Omnisphere 2, but I'm on High Sierra and I don't know if that's related. When I selected a patch with the same name in several different libraries, only one was selected, and always the same one. To get the other patches with the same name, I had to modify the filename, for example, by adding the library name after the patch name, and then update the patch list.

 

Yeah I was also thinking about doing the same workaround, but since in my case they are a lot of patches, I am just waiting for Spectrasonics to fix it. I already sent them an email about this issue so hopefully in a future update it gets resolved.
