I’m using Studio one 6. I love the Daw, some things I do however have problems with. One of those problems being that when I Bounce a track that has pan applied to it it just ignores the pan entirely, whether that be a Stereo or Mono Track. The other method I use is creating a Stereo track and recording the track I want to process by setting it as the input for the new stereo track I created and pressing record on the new track and recording it. This also ignores the pan I set entirely which is so strange to me. I like to process my tracks sometimes when I have the inserts/effects on the channel just how I want them and want to keep that audio signal whilst getting rid of the actual plugins to reduce computer consumption allowing me to do more. Usually I’ll mix my song for awhile and when I finally have it all how I want it I’ll do it for every track. But no matter what it ignored whether I pan the channel left or right, unless of course I have a pan plugin in the insert of the channel in which case it will process it. Is there any way to get it to normally process my pan how I want or am I just confused and it’s working as intended? Any help is much appreciated!

    from google:

In Studio One, rendering pan settings depends on the method used: Transform to Rendered Audio includes pan effects if Preserve Realtime State is enabled, while a simple Bounce Selection or Event bounce typically ignores channel pan settings by default. To ensure pan settings are included, you must enable the option to Preserve Realtime State when using Transform to Rendered Audio, or manually check the pan and volume automation is included in the render settings.

it's this kind of "we know better than the user" DAW routing decisions that actually make no sense. What a convoluted process to something so basic.

This is simply because bouncing and transforming into audio aren't the same thing. One happens on event level, the other happens on track level. The options do what they advertise, including "preserve realtime state".

Won't "mixdown selection" work for panned audio? It mutes the original track which you can "hide" for future puposes if needed.

It's a common user complaint either way. Google it and look at the number of results from users.
