I recently picked up Scaler 3 for $29 as apparently I owned Scaler 2..!

I upgraded because I tried out the version from the Sister site and I liked it so I decided to support the software. The problem is that after many installs, uninstalls, restarts even using Wide Blue Plugin Uninstaller the paid plugin still scans as already registered. I would like to register with my paid serial.

Does anyone know where the registration files are hiding?

I'm on macOS 14 (Sonoma) on M1 Ultra.

    Would appreciate the love.

    Cheers!

    Windows Location: %APPDATA%

    Mac Location: ~/Library/Application Support

There should be a file named "8ee6df9696d67d1fcfe63c7c4b4506e7", that's the license.

Thanks for tipping in mate but I'm on a Mac... Is there an equivalent location to %APPDATA%?

I edited my comment, yes, it should be "~/Library/Application Support" under Mac.

    use FAF. Find Any File.

I would stay on v2 also. V3 is Bloated. It's still ok, but I don't need a lot of it.

Anything you can't find normally will be in /Library/Preferences.

I've complained about this probably too much, but agree. I regret purchasing V3, as it's a very disappointing and pointless upgrade. It wasn't expensive, and this is petty, but it irks me a tiny bit that I gave money to that company to take the plugin in a really unnecessary direction. I have no idea why, but they decided to replicate your much better DAW rather than focus on the original point of the software. I honestly don't get it.

Yeah, I'm not a Mac user, but this is a note from R2R:

Scaler Music Scaler 3 Regged Release

    For Windows

    Copy file “8ee6df9696d67d1fcfe63c7c4b4506e7” to “%APPDATA%\”

    For macOS

    Copy the file “8ee6df9696d67d1fcfe63c7c4b4506e7” to “~/Library/Application Support/”
As you can see, the ~/letter at the beginning is the user’s folder!
    Enjoy!

They are quite right saying that is where to put the actual license file. That file is what the plugin checks for authorization to use it. But when the installer runs, the plugin and apps open; just like on Windows, they payload all the additional necessary files to install and run the thing properly. But what they can often do, is leave any kind of scrap file in folders; as long as they have correct permissions to put those files somewhere. They also install .plist (property list) files in preferences folder. All of this is just normal installation of an app or plugin in MacOS.
But all of these files that are tiny can also be left as remnants which a new installation might look for. This is why R2R almost always write in nfo files to "uninstall previous version". They mean do it completely and cleanly. This whole thing is why.

This is also why Monitored Installation for Uninstallation is why Revo Uninstaller Pro is best for this on Windows. This is just a manual way of doing the same thing, without recommending a cleaner app with "hunting" or whatever they call it now.
