I just wanted to apologize for spilling all my personal drama out on you guys. There was no call for that. The only excuse I have for all of this is because I'd found myself backed into a corner scared. I take my 'hobby' very seriously and became worried that I would find myself ostracized from a community that I genuinely cared about and wanted to be a part of since I was a kid. I was too self absorbed to notice that I was creating a worse situation for myself by a desperate attempt to keep that from happening. Hopefully I've stopped all of this in time unlike the past few times where genuine bad luck and my desperate attempts to fight back caused me to end up in deeper shit.

I'm not coming here to promote my board and if you want me to remove its address from my signature I will. I actually think they could co exists rather nicely because I focus on the entirely different concept of freeware being easily accessible; even though my original motivation was koo-koo at best! lol The work I did under that motivation showed me where a genuine need exists in the industry. And if anyone here wants to help fill that, I'd be happy to have you on board.

I'd like to be welcomed here still (because quite frankly you're all a lot cooler than half of the people on the other boards, like kvr and places like that are very rare) but will understand if you guys prefer that I quietly hoof it.

Oh and the good news... I have some things set into motion that should see me back to making music real soon.

That's good to hear brother, cuz if you're pissing people off here, then you're going to have a hard time anywhere, because as you say this is generally the most accepting board I've seen. +1 with the apology, feel free to be yourself, but just tone it down a bit lol. And yeah stick to making music, I read some of your other music based posts and they seemed quite rational.

Yeah, I know. Even if I'm only ever welcomed here at least it would be a welcome somewhere and I just don't want to do something that would get me booted from all the places I could have found enjoyment. That's something I need a lot right now. Enjoyment. The job market in my immediate area is so fucking dead its horrible. However if things go well for someone I know around here and they can get their business off and running I'm sure they would do me a solid and extend a hand up.

Yes, I've actually made music. I often collaborate with the other two members of my board, one being my wife who is still learning and the other being a close friend who had their start much like I did. We've all sort of decided, sort of unspoken, that until we can get legit to put everything on hold. I'm about to start working on a few tracks using nothing but freeware and cheaper software to show to potential members that decent tracks can be made without using Pro-tools or other high end gear.

Thank you, for the complement. I enjoy it when others find something positive in the work I've done. Also, there are other unreleased tracks that are MUCH better than those we have posted and they are a part of this mission as well. They are so good that we don't want them to be taken from us - which they can do have a look at some laws or eula agreements.

mega fail or Epic Win - a couple developers have been by and checked it out with positive responses and that's what counts right now at this point in the game. I just want to help out in as universal a way as possible. I know you can't please all the people all the time, but that doesn't mean I should try to identify that razors edge of a balance.

You've had your come to Jesus moment, but I think were all pretty able for ourselves to decide when and if we want to start using freeware.

Regardless of whether I decided to use freeware exclusively or not, I certainly wouldn't be joining some warez addicts anonymous board anyway, the entire idea is ludicrous.

I'm not just promoting exclusivity in freeware usage to anyone but those, like my self, who cannot afford anything else. My personal opinion is that piracy is inadvertently promoted (or subconsciously encouraged) by the fact that freeware is not readily available. It seems to be a little hypocritical of developers to bitch and gripe about 'kids' pirating their products when they do not offer those same kids a cheaper alternative. I've come to find out that many actually do offer some alternatives but you have to dig deep to find them and you'll usually find pirated version long before you find the freeware. And in American society kids don't want to work for anything even if it results in something for free, and I'd like to do something to change that mindset. Hell I'm even guilty of thinking like that, that's why its so important to me. That's all.
