First of all, I think it's great that they're willing to support manufacturers and
then also exchange and make their products available to the R2R team.

The downsid e, however, is that they might drive a company or a one-person
business completely into bankruptcy or make it unemployed.

If you have benefited from R2R, then please follow R2R's general call to action: "Support manufacturers you like,
because only when manufacturers earn enough money will there be new products, innovations, and updates."

ANY release group depends upon it's suppliers

In a lot of cases, but not all, this would mean not only a copy of the software but
a working license or serial number.

A supplier would have to legit purchase the software themselves and pass that
with their license or serial number.

Going back even 10 years, more people were happy to supply but now a days
most are not and just want to take take take.

They maybe Witches but they can not cast spells and magically make it all appear.

Someone may ask "why don't the Witches buy the software themselves"?
The answer to that is simple, they do not make any money from what they do
and that is not what the audio warez scene is about.
So why should they fund the scene out of their money?

Certainly the newer visitors to the scene, who do not know its history, need to
remember that Witches have lives, magical and mysterious, they owe us nothing
    and we owe them everything.

That is al;l that there is to it - end of story.

    Yes, spot on.

I feel that the small one or two person software developers should be off limits.

A good example of that is The Crow Hill Company.
That is a very small company that is essentially "a one man operation".

They are no where near close to making a profit and if they go under because
they get cracked, that would destroy the company before it has even got going.

You're making a big assumption there. There are more people now, but I don't see any evidence that supply is low.

    Sure it is.

And yeah i'm Sure on one Hand it Hurts the small developers more than the bigger ones. On the Other hand who can Tell that the crack is to blame? We dont know how many people would have bought it If No crack existed.

But i really didn't want to Take this to off-topic discussions. All i wanted to say was that we should Not Always believe that the Most requested stuff that everyone wants to have has been supplied anyway.

And i think the Most demanded ones, for The Most part are Not the small one Person Businesses.

We had that discussion so many Times and you can argue About it for days whether it Hurts the companies or not. But If someone ain't willing to buy you're not Losing him as a customer due to a crack. He's gonna use it because it's available for free to him but that Doesn't mean he's gonna pay for it If it's Not available. Most people don't stumble upon k'd Software, they intentionally search for it. Either because they simply Just can't afford it or they Just don't wanna buy it for whatever reason (for example the layers of protection that Always hurt the playing customer in Terms of Performance, demanded space...). I wouldnt See them as Potential customers you as a company lost due to k'ed Software.
Some companies are shit and don't deserve to be supported, Others do deserve it.
But Look around here, how many people say they fell in Love with a k'ed Plugin and then bought them legit? And now Put them next to the ones that would have bought Software but Just decided not to Just because the k'ed Version was available. Those are the only ones that really hurt the companies. Real lost customers. And i think they are only a few. Not even Worth the Money they spent on protection to try to avoid that.
But that's Just My Point of View.

Anyways Like i Said i didnt wanna Go Off topic. I Just wanted to say we need to be aware that we could potentially See way more goodies and big Gongs If we contributed more.

    That's all :)

And how do you know there's enough supply? I'll give one evidence: lately R2R released Uhbik 2 and reading the NFO they mentioned once again (god knows how many times they mentioned that), they mentioned about Filterscape not been supplied in order to be unlocked, so the supply is low, as it was low in Acustica Audio case which made R2R unlock trial versions instead of full releases...

In real life, you only buy software you like or that offers added value. Some people first check online to see if the desired software is available for free; if they can't find it, they buy it. Others buy it because it's legal and they don't want to break the law... and so on.

The World Wide Web offers great opportunities for everyone, but at the same time, there's a lot of fraud. Without the internet, the market for software manufacturers would be much smaller. Basically, we're saying the same thing. Besides, nobody really knows what users actually do on their home PCs. Even with Team R2R, all we know is what's in the NFO files.

Well, that means there was a shortage of Filterscape, it doesnt indicate a general shortage. And, for sure, there were many, many offers of Acustica stuff made. No shortage there. So on that side of things we can only assume a different reason.

Talking about supply here, i want to ask a mod, is it possible to supply UAD Spark if subscription still active? And in this case what should be supplied? Both logins and passwords of UA account and iLok account? (Since there's no installer because it uses UA Connect to download directly from the cloud) and if has been supplied before or not ?

    About supplying:
Will you supply the labour of love from a one man company - like Aly James Lab's VProm 3 (a killer drum machine, far better than any GForce/Berhinger/Iconic Levine emulations which are basically sample players) sold at a ridiculous price - and be proud of your so called "generous" gesture?
    Be honest, sincerely...

I supplied V3 months ago. Aly James is a butthole. Charging for GUI updates essentially.

So now you're shaming suppliers :dunno: You do realize without suppliers, YOU GET NOTHING. EVER.

Since this is a Gong Thread, I have a Gong question: What does '6 7' mean, which has become trendy recently?

What Does "6 7" Mean? The Trendy Gen Alpha Meme Explained
Ah, the mysterious "6 7" (often stylized as 6-7, 67, or "six seven")—it's one of those gloriously absurd internet trends that's taken over TikTok, classrooms, and family dinners in 2025. If you're hearing it from kids (or even some young adults) and feeling like you need a decoder ring, you're not alone. Even celebrities like Shaquille O'Neal and Rep. Eric Swalwell have publicly scratched their heads over it. Spoiler: It's supposed to be nonsensical, which is exactly why it's so annoyingly catchy. Let's break it down step by step.

Origins: From Rap Track to Basketball Meme
    • The Song That Started It All: The phrase exploded from the 2024 drill rap track "Doot Doot (6 7)" by Philadelphia rapper Skrilla (real name: unknown, but he's got that raw Philly energy). In the song, he drops lines like "6-7, I just bipped right on the highway," with a beat drop that hits like a hype train. Skrilla himself has said he never intended a deep meaning—it's just a vibe.
    • The Basketball Twist: It went mega-viral in early 2025 when TikTokers started editing the song over clips of NBA star LaMelo Ball (of the Charlotte Hornets). Why? Ball is exactly 6'7" tall (that's 6 feet 7 inches, or about 2 meters for the metric fans). The height match-up turned it into a perfect meme fuel, especially since Ball's flashy, "so-so" on-court style (love him or not) added ironic layers—like using "6-7" to shrug off an average play.
    • Possible Deeper Roots? Some speculate it nods to 67th Street in Philly or Chicago (Skrilla's influences), or even police radio code for something shady. But honestly? It's devolved into pure chaos—kids don't care about the backstory; they just chant it for the lols.
How It's Used: Nonsense with a Side of Gesture
At its core, "6 7" has no fixed meaning—it's "brainrot slang" (a term for these absurd, addictive Gen Alpha/Gen Z phrases like "skibidi" or "rizz"). Think of it as:

    • An Interjection or Reaction: Yelled out randomly for hype, sarcasm, or to fill awkward silence. Example: Someone scores 67% on a test? "6-7!" Or after a Cubs loss 6-7: "SIX SEVEN! SIX SEVEN!"
    • The Hand Gesture: Palms up, rocking your hands side-to-side like you're weighing options (or juggling invisible balls). It's the visual punchline—picture a kid at recess doing this while screaming "6-7!" to troll their friends.
    • Evolving Twists:
      • Ironic for mediocrity: "That performance? Straight 6-7." (Tied to LaMelo's rep.)
      • Mashed with other slang: "6-7 sendy" (go wild with average energy).
      • In sports: NFL celebrations, WNBA pressers—it's everywhere.
It's spread offline too: Schools are banning it for classroom disruptions (kids chanting during math class? Chaos). Parents and teachers are exhausted—one X user called it "pissing me off daily" with elementary kids.

Why It's So Trendy in 2025
    • Word of the Year Status: Dictionary.com crowned "6-7" their 2025 Word of the Year in October, calling it "a burst of energy that spreads and connects people long before anyone agrees on what it actually means." Merriam-Webster dubbed it a "nonsensical expression" for tweens.
    • Gen Alpha Fuel: Born on TikTok/Instagram Reels, it's peak "brainrot"—playfully absurd, easy to meme, and impossible to explain to boomers (sorry, not sorry). It's like the modern "your mom" jokes from our era: Zero substance, maximum annoyance.
    • Harmless? Mostly: No red flags for parents—it's just kids being weirdos. But if it's driving you nuts, blame Skrilla and LaMelo.
In short: "6 7" means whatever gets the group laughing—nothing, everything, or just "vibe check failed." If you wanna join in, blast the song and do the gesture. Otherwise, earplugs for the playground. What's the wildest place you've heard it? Drop it below—let's decode more brainrot.

Some people speak in riddles, slang, street language, or abbreviations. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence and constantly raises questions about what is meant or how it's interpreted. This only makes communication more difficult.
