Those who bash Ableton, do you not make loop-based music? Because IMO its Session View ("Clips") is pretty unbeatable at that. A lot of people work only in Arrangement View, which I also don't like - and don't get, because IMO Ableton is made for its Clip-based workflow.

My problem with Live is that it's quite the CPU hog, for some reason. And even though I have a Push (2), the user experience still isn't as tactile as, say, Maschine standalone (with the hardware).

I do, its the only daw I use today and I use it for live performances as well (and yes, it is unbeatable for that). That is why I think it should be optmized for that (as its name implies, this would be one of its primary usages). But it is not anymore! Imho they have been making it bloated and cramped with features that are making its usability harder and harder to perform live. Wish they at least put a "live mode" on it, where you could use a streamlined version with less consumption of everything just to play clips in real time without big worries about ram usage, cpu, latency, cracks and audio drops, etc.

I actually despise but using almost in a daily rate Native Instrument KONTAKT...especially the new versions, since 8ths////
They have lost it, they want us to be able to access ALL king of Sounds but it's endless so it lost its efficiency.
The greed is the reason again.
    love to all
