Hello everyone! I have gotten everything set up and working from the newest software pass release however I need some help with just one thing I couldn’t get working, that being SGX-2. When I load it up it asks about the library, I have the library downloaded as well, I place the SGX-2 Library (containing the Recources and System Folders) in Users Shared Korg. When I load up SGX-2 it asks about library location, when I locate the folder in the SGX2 program it says it needs to delete and reinstall the files in that folder. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong there or if that’s how it is supposed to go and I am supposed to replace the files created by SGX2 with my downloaded Library file after it’s finished installing? I would find it weird though that I cannot just select the Sgx2 library file I downloaded from the Korg Library Release and use that without having to install more or replace those files, if that’s what the program needs to function. So anyway I press delete and reinstall because I don’t see much of any other option and it starts to install at a pretty normal speed, but then starts slowing down the installation speed randomly to about 1mb per second? Which is quite odd considering it was just going fairly fast. It’s a large installation and hasn’t worked for me at all yet so that’s quite annoying considering I have to wait a long time just for it to probably end up not working anyway. If it does install and lets me through to the software (which I have activated and should be working fine) there are errors such as missing pictures or no sound on some of the pianos. I figure that’s because I need to use the Korg Library Release Files downloaded from the sister site. So I close out of SGX-2 and replace the downloaded files with the Library Release files, however when I open the program back up it doesn’t work and wants me to install the files again or reinstall the SGX2 software giving me an error code saying so. I have reinstalled it and of course the activation is working fine from the software pass release however I run into the same exact issues with the Library stuff. It wants me to install, won’t allow me to just select the folder and go about it without deleting/ replacing the files as I mentioned. It’s been driving me nuts cause I have every other thing working with no problems whatsoever and I would love to have the SGX2 as a part of the collection, I usually can figure this stuff out by messing around with the files and program but for the life of me I cannot get this one figured out. If anyone has the time to read all this and give me any advice or help me out at all it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance, hope I can get this solved.

Howdy! I can relate to this. And I may've had a similar issue about the program complaining about the factory library. Is it outright spitting out the downloaded factory data? If so, have you tried recursively changing the file/folder permissions for the data folder?

I'll give a basic tutorial on this just so you're not looking left and right for a solution, plus this one is more about interfacing with the GUI than messing with the terminal.

Select the root folder (in this case "SGX-2"), right click and select "Get Info", or alternatively press ⌘ + I

Assuming the folder, sub-folders and the other contents within are defaulted to read-only, you want to change these to read & write.

Click the small lock icon to the bottom right, enter your credentials as prompted to unlock it.

Then, set all privileges to 'Read & Write' (I had to change the permissions just so the highlighted option would show better), but the most important step to remedy any sort of issue with SGX-2 is to click the three dots encapsulated in the circle, and select 'Apply to enclosed items'. Click the lock again, and presto! You're now ready to jam!

Hope this helps! Let me know if all is well or if you need more help! :)

^^ I also had to do this when I installed the SGX library.

Awesome I think that might do the trick. Just to confirm though, it will still ask to delete and replace the contents of the folder? Because I went ahead and changed it all to read and write and applied to enclosed items and it still pops up saying that.

For some reason it still isn’t working for me. Perhaps im doing something wrong. I put the library in Machd-Users-Shared-Korg. And when I open sgx it ask select or download and install. I select the SGX Folder in said path and click download and it says it will delete and replace the contents. I tried that and it was downloading for awhile then says installation failed. Leaving nothing from SGX in the Korg folder of said path. When I open the software should I select the path as User/Shared/Korg/Sgx2 or User/Shared/Korg/Sgx2/System or something else? Both of those it asks to delete and replace if I have the folder put in there from the factory data release in the said path even with read and write/ apply to enclosed done. Do I just install the data from the software then replace it with the factory data den the release? Not quite sure what is going wrong.

Hmm... You'd best refrain from downloading it from KORG themselves since their download services are rather... terrible. You'd best get the sister site's copy of the factory data, then adjust the permissions according to my lil' tutorial and select that same folder to try again. Hope that helps.

I am using the factory data folder from the sister site, i have the SGX folder from that release. I put that folder in Users/Shared/Korg and changed the Folder and all subfolders to read and write as well as unlocked and pressed apply to enclosed items. When I load SGX 2 it asks where the folder is. I select it, but nothing happens, i have to press download and install which prompts a message saying it will delete and reinstall data from that folder. Sorry for the confusion, but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong with it.

That is genuinely odd... I'm very sorry that's happening.
