I get it, a fair proportion of the posts are just folks speculating and shitposting. But what I'm trying to point to is a general culture of entitlement endemic in the audio scene right now. It's there and it's real and very conspicuous in this gong thread, of course.

Lets take 'begging' posts for example. A typical begging post might be 'Please can we have X' - at which point the post is either derided or deleted, usually both. But begging posts, I suggest, are far more pervasive and wide than the obvious ones. Where a person speculates about what R2R might do, or what they ought to do (given some self-possessed righteousness) is a form of begging. It's simply "I want X" dressed up as "I imagine R2R should be doing X". It's a subtle difference but essentially what you have is a heaving mass of people all secretly wanting the thing that THEY want, and pretending to be nonchalant, somewhat removed from the begging, by playfully positing a scenario where R2R would do 'a thing' that, coincidentally, suited their world view.

Don't you see? By doing this you are simply begging. No more, no less.

Apart from that we have decided to release 1 synth that is combined code of omnipshere serum and acustica. Since we are in the A.I. Era we our proud to announce that we will focus on new plugins reselbeling hardware 1 on 1 this will mean after the gong we will be back in 2026 summer when btc hits 300k.

News from the Team R2R (2025.09.20):

What monster did they post? Or will there be another surprise tomorrow, November 2nd?

I get what you mean, but I do not see it in here at all. Except from a few utter newbies, probably 99.9% of users in the thread are in absolutely no state of bewilderment which might cause them to think their little post is going to influence what R2R do in any way.

Thinly veiled requests happen all the time, but usually they are in the "where has R2R gone!" threads that pop up each time they do not release anything since Monday of whatever week they occur in. Someone saying I hope they do UAD or Protools! No shit? Whoever thought those products would be a desirable thing to see show up on Sister Site some day? Thanks to Johnny2937, R2R are suddenly on the case! To maybe release something for people to use every single day (without any intention of buying), like UA or Protools.

Newsflash: They are going to do whatever they damn well please. Everyone knows that already. They are certainly not reading a 45 page thread taking suggestions.

People reading a line or two of text in an nfo file waiting for a release of something just because they said another "Kong is dead" somehow has marked their calendar as for Halloween day, down to the minute; like it is New York New Years Eve is what is unrealistic, if not more than that.

This is the least stealthy thinly veiled batch of begging I've ever seen. I can't make any excuses for the 3 or 4 Mac users who have made comments even remotely "expecting anything".

If a plugin has become essential in your workflow, buy it.

 

i bought all Soundtoys, few UAD, few Sonnox, i even bought Soothe2 in a black friday as i'm working on both PC and MAC, my DAW is legit, can't do everything at once and still using few R2R Softube so buying legit can create issues if both installed, idk why i'm explaining to you, i have nothing to justify especially with that comment of yours.
