How many orchestral sound libraries do we actually need?
Strings, horns, drums… are we trying to fit an entire philharmonic orchestra into our computer or what?!
Honestly, even Hans Zimmer doesn’t have this many libraries, and here we are trying to collect them all

And seriously, if R2R comes out with some player for these orchestral sounds, I’m gonna get a real nasty letdown.
I think the quality just needs to be user-friendly, and the fact that it has UAD is totally enough for now.

 

Yes, you as an individual can conduct and play an entire orchestra on your home PC these days. You'd be surprised how few users actually collect everything. Besides, you can bequeath your hard drive with all these treasures to your grandchildren; some users just want to experience the feeling of being rich.

I've already deleted a lot; the Delete key is my best friend because too much is counterproductive and also leads to stress.

You underestimate Hans Zimmer. The first thing he did was commission a motherboard manufacturer to build him a motherboard with 128 GB of RAM. He always has a container (i.e., an order at the top) and then he drags the appropriate instruments into the tracks. He sits in front of two monitors;

 

You guys remember in Christmas 2022 when R2R dropped East West Play + Libraries? At first i was excited but seeing the large libraries that go up to 300+ GB i said well not for me, didn't even bother downloading the 12GB Gypsy library because download one and more will follow, i just downloaded East West Space II to try then deleted, i'm thankful to R2R for giving us the possibility to try what's out there but not even thinking of downloading libraries ever again not VSL nor Spitfire, this is me but surely others make use of these large libraries.

 

Why would I even bother collecting all these sound libraries? Do you know how many terabytes of top-notch libraries are out there on sister site? Some people are just hoarding them to hand down to their grandkids like, what’s the point?

Hans Zimmer doesn’t compose using sound libraries alone. He sketches out his music ideas with libraries, sure, but in the end, the strings and percussion and... are recorded live by amazing musicians.

Honestly, what I’m after is just quality. I don’t have access to amazing analog sound gear or high-end audio interfaces. Right now, I’m just hoping R2R brings in UAD, because for now, they’re the only company doing top-tier simulation. Every time I reload the page, I secretly hope to see a UAD post.

I’ve got almost 1 terabyte of Kontakt orchestral libraries, so I don’t need more. What I need now is quality.

I don’t look at this from a “collect everything” perspective. I care about practical use and real results.

The answer will be clear soon i believe... The question right now is when the release is going to take place.

 

I'm TEAM R2R fanboi, but it seems that this year gonna be dry like last year or year before when they dropped AutoTune Slicer and told us they gonna bring Avenger, actually according to Olymoon RIP, Team R2R was supplied with Avenger 2 since the very beginning with stable release. So, I gonna not be surprised if they drop some symphonic gigantic useless shiteee as many users except already...

 

What can you do with UAD that you can't already do with FabFilter, Izotope, TBProAudio, Voxengo etc? You already have all the high-quality plugins you could ever need.

 

Yeah, I feel the same way. It's good that they addressed this.Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees.

Toontrack was also amazing, at least 236 GB. I've bought so many hard drives, Blu-rays, and CD-ROMs to back up all those treasures. How much money has flowed to file hosting services. Making music is an expensive hobby, requiring a new CPU, etc. As you get older, you gradually see through it and free yourself through common sense and the delete key.

For some users worldwide, this free gift is a way to make money professionally.
Some users are actually making really great music with it.

 

there are some reason it is dry. first because more than %90 of software are cracked an second most of the other software are using ilok and they use very similar one and as i understand they need legit license for those and if they want to release those protection they need to do all of them at once cause if they do some others will get updated and getting them will be even harder so they vaulting little by little and when they collect enough they will release it so at least we got everything at that time.
ALSO they never told us that they would release avenger but they always said they will release it only if people give them all exp with license and then they would release it.

How can I understand your frustration?

Do you constantly need new surprises and new gifts? Be happy about everything you already own and how much money you've saved. You're practically rolling in it with R2R. Why don't you list all the plugins you own, along with their prices, so you realize what's already happened in your past. Be glad we have the internet, a PC for making music, tons of software; learn what we as humanity have already achieved in terms of digital music.
