Yea, seems like mame is the best for whatever one wants to Game

Seems to be most reliable, and best plug'n play experience ( once properly set up ... seems to just work & keep on working, just like we want it... ( reminds how reliable we'd also want our music setups be... anyhow, yeah ( seems like ) this is where the fun is at ) )

Hey and that game looks real fun.... ... um, and yea i haven't checked any of the prices yet so will remain to see if it really is a fun under the sun. Anyhow, based on the video, got to look in to options on playing that... hopefully the free ones to begin with exist.

    Thanx for the ideas

Then go MAME. Not every ROM will work depending on HW, but most will.
I gathered about 1000 ROMs (arcade games from mid 70's).
At this very moment I play Crazy Climber.
Not every game is easy to play because they miss proper controls (think of Marble Madness or Missile Command, they had a big trackball), still it's lot of fun.

Edit: I see that you went already for that.

yeah, the playability and enjoyment was unreal
Also, with one button only joysticks at the time it was incredible the number of things you could do
Haven't tried Launchbox. I've used Cloanto packs for Amiga and C64, the best AFAIK.

ROFL we used to play Unreal Tournament many years ago...

A bunch of friends mapped out each others houses as maps yes including all the furniture and wall art, we would then fight inside each others houses in a complete hilarious death match. Yes we also did not just play but made maps as well, dabbed into map mapping using early cameras, photo scanners.

I mean there is nothing more more hilarious than getting snipped from your friend standing on top of your stove then snipping him from the roof of his house while he looks up from his backyard pool deck.

We did the maps as detailed as we could giving the ancient tech at that time however we even made videos and had those clips playing in the TV model in the living room sections.

So even at our older ages now we are still playing that game Unreal Tournament GOTY.

Too bad now we don't do maps anymore but was a hell of a time when games actually made us learn how to model, map, work with graphics, audio, video etc.

Most games don't even have editors anymore.

MAME devs are interesting, they're more interested in emulating the chips for software preservation, the fact that it lets you play old games from old systems is secondary.

But the thing is, as they're aiming for cycle-perfect emulations every now and then you get this:

...I didn't know the MPC shared sound and/or system chips with Neo Geo :woot:

I’m the "I only play FPS" guy who’s addicted to grinding ranked. Got no time for BS, just want to get better. Also, Microtransaction Whale, don’t judge me.

Currently, the video game I am playing is Nulls Brawl, and it has become my favorite game to spend time on. I enjoy it because it allows access to all brawlers, skins, and features without limitations, which makes the gameplay more exciting and stress-free. Being able to test different brawlers and strategies anytime helps me understand the game mechanics better and keeps every match fresh and enjoyable.

What makes Nulls Brawl special for me is the freedom it offers compared to regular versions of the game. I can focus purely on improving my skills, experimenting with new tactics, and having fun without worrying about resources or progression barriers. The fast-paced action, variety of game modes, and constant excitement are the main reasons why Nulls Brawl remains my favorite game.

Been enjoying Slay the Spire so much, after all the times spent playing CS2 and Darkest Dungeon, it's truly relaxing to just play a mix between RoR2 and deck-building.

I have a few I'm cycling through at the moment:
    • Soulstone Survivors
    • Stellaris
    • Age of Wonders 4
    • Endless Space 2
    • Wartales
    • MTG Arena
Although that list might suggest I'm heavily into strategy games, I was more of a multiplayer only FPS player back in the day.
Those days were fun, but not for someone like me today. Strategy is more of the chilled experience I'm looking for. :)

Big fan of CD Project Red, from their Witcher series. Bought Cyberpunk 2077 on GOG when it first came out. I was pretty excited to play the game. Played it for a bit, absolutely hated it, and returned it. That was the first game I've ever initiated a return on.

Decided to give it another go a few weeks ago. I'm liking it a lot more now that they've worked out most of the problems. Still some stuff about it I dont like, and far from my favorite game, but I recognize why most people really love it and I am enjoying it enough.
