Does he thinx he's like avid or UA or something :dunno: What exactly has HE brought to the table that was actually truly unique and useful? This compressor thing is a POS one off and R2R threw him a bone and cracked his "major accomplishment" just for a laugh and now he thinx he's entered the "big time" because R2R did him a solid... The legit major corporate devs (and smaller devs as well) get paid by actual brick & mortar businesses, and certified online services who are required to pay for such things in order to comply with business standards organizations that police that kind of thing. Do you see WAVES, AVID, Softube, Soundtoys, UA, Eventide, etc, going out of biz because any of their stuff got cracked? NO. So this dude is now just ranting about crap just out of the blue and about shit he knows absolutely nothing about.. Once again... The "free gift" thing is just retarded. Did he include a CRC so his code could be checked for authenticity? NO. R2R INCLUDES CRC HASHES IN ALL OF THEIR RELEASES AND HAVE BEEN DOING SO FOR YEARS. Again he is talking out his arse. He so scared of malware...It borders on the pathological...Are there no proper virus scanners for apples machines? The one take away from the whole debacle is that the PLUGIN "curvature" is nothing special. Audio folk use compressors for pretty much one thing. This plugin sort of does that "thing" that folks need a compressor to do. I didn't see or more importantly hear anything coming from this plugin that I couldn't hear coming from 12 dozen others. So much ado about nothing... Quite frankly this entire thing smells like a grab for attention by one of the biggest attention whores on yt.

I can't really say if i like this guy or dislike because honestly he means nothing to me, but in a case where i find myself with him in the studio trying to finish job or Master a track ! He seems that guy that you don't want to be around or dare to ask him to revisit some stuff for you, i feel like if i ask him for a small task he'll immediately start arguing and proving how ignorant i'm
I really feel for his clients, if he has clients

Did he remember to say, at the end of his video, 'Don't forget to subscribe and hit the Like button.'? I only got about a minute into it.

Some time ago on KVR I half-seriously joked with Urs (Heckman) on his company's thread there something about him getting into the acoustic guitar business for when civilization collapses and the internet goes down along with it, and I just recently found out that he's peddling some kind of 'brick-and-mortar' unit called CVilization.
It's not quite an acoustic guitar but, unless he's got a Star Trek replicator, at least the price (if, granted, in the current context) seems more inline with its actual/real costs and he can(/has) probably add(ed) his special-sauce software to it too.

Electronic file-sharing issues got 'straightened-out' likely long before our friend in the video was born, or at least old enough to walk. If walking into a desert and expecting it to put food on you and your family (owe you a living) isn't working out so well, that's not the desert's fault.

And now, and speaking of 'deserts', many into the creation of so-called art/music in the online context seem to be increasingly up in arms about AI. As or if it advances, we might hear (more) about AI plugin slop too, if we're still online.

    YT comment, among others: Beg-Ware

The whole thing seems like a job identity crisis, but I am not sure who is confused.

The plugin developing is just to legitimize any criticism about other developers plugins on his YT videos. "I know a good plugin from a bad one because I've created plugins". On the flip, it is "you should buy my plugin; because as you can see from my YT channel; I clearly know what makes a good plugin". It's like a self-creating resume that only shows you have applied for a lot of different jobs. While he seems to misunderstand some things about audiowarez, it's pretty obvious he's used his share anyway.

The main one is that no-one is stealing his plugin. They are checking it out and deleting it soon thereafter. If it makes you feel better that your plugin is a moneymaking flop to blame crackers, go ahead and convince yourself of that. "Open-source software is great, until I decide I'm the one who needs the money".

Putting up some free plugins, is not giving anyone a "gift", it's another useless credentials building attempt. Most real developers would call them "practice" and never upload them. I cannot even count how many times a free plugin on someone's site has saved me the money I was just about to consider spending on their paid product.

The entire thing is a circle jerk: a self-reinforcing loop of validation where someone props up their own credibility through superficial means, and their audience or peers keep echoing it back. When it doesn't work, it is a "conspiracy".

video: "Team R2R cracked my plugin."

it's refreshing to see actual dev (AP Mastering) comment on R2R, nfo, and topic of cracks, piracy, opensource, values etc...
indirectly mentions sister site, shitty fileservers, and crack itself being cool as well

As far as the guy's other outpourings, this is not too bad actually. He goes through the internals of the plugin and the crack, and he does mention that you should trust the source where you're getting them (though it's kind of implicit that you can't trust any of it, but...)

Sure he goes on about his stuff on how he deserves everything and how he's so unique and creative, but that's to be expected. Still, I expected much more cringeworthy things.

The only good idea I take from this interview is the hash file. I've seen hash files released with some releases but if the file is included with the release, someone can always tamper with it along the way. I think the groups should create a place where you can grab hash files from them for their releases. A place safe from public tampring, this way we can always the check files we get for their legitimacy.

I've thought about this, but the problem is that how would a private group make their signing keys or hashes public? Who would stop somebody from publishing "the official keys" for this without making themselves known?

I don't think it would work at all, because either they're known or somebody else could fake the crypto signatures.

    AP is for Attention Plug

so... i'm done giving attention to him his plugs
thanx to R2R for allowing me to discover this plugin is not a good one...
coz you need to meditate before you touch it...unlike real easy comprossor that just needs you to dial it in properly with you ears...

If metaphysics degree is needed to make music then Stephen Hawking would have been the king of POP not MJ

    so long AP

sorry...for your curvature ending in a dark black hole where no music will ever be player ever

    ~ Guerrilla Marketing 101 ~

Bait-and-switch? Like You Tube ads now and periodic log-ins to watch?

I looked briefly at some of his other videos and he seems merely like an 'indie-style' rep for industry, dropping commercial names and ostensibly-expensive stuff out of nowhere. So you can learn, from him, maybe a paid rep, what to specifically consume, so he can earn commissions and they can make money.
Mentioning R2R/cracking and doing a whole video on it is or can be part of that form of marketing strategy: Hip associations with the fringes.

'You're the goat, so now we are too.'.

Team R2R has been borgged as a household name. Yawn. Might as well open up some slick, Apple-style multinational shops and, for example, help us clueless walk-ins with our 'security'. ;P

Granted I didn't see the whole video, but WRT his speakers/monitors video, I noticed that he started the video with an audio demo of some speakers. But AFAIUnderstand, you can't do that just like that in the video. You need audio-testing equipment for one.

It's kind of like how the 'white' on your computer screen in Photoshop, say, isn't actually or necessarily white. You have to discern this, internally, by the sample icon for example and see what it says. 'R:255 G:255 B:255'. Maybe true white looks blueish on your screen, but internally or mathematically, say, it's white.

But maybe later in the video and/or other videos, he brings out the hard-core audio testing equipment.

Man I was considering buying a 13 inch mac recently to make music while I travel and started looking at my core set of plugins' size for MacOS and I was blown away at how much larger they often are, I have to assume it has something to do with the universal binaries and such but damn. For a platform already known for being stingy with storage it's insane what you all have to deal with there. 2nd thing you have to purchase after the mac is an SSD to plug into a dongle! lmao

Unsure if it was you who previously-posted an unflattering image hereon of the video guy, and I can't seem to find it (maybe it was modded-out), but, interestingly perhaps, his new video (if I got the selection correct), unlike all videos stretching back 7 months (that's as far as I wanted to sample), is the only one where he doesn't appear in the video, like in front of that fragmented art piece.

    So it's possible he's lurking.
