    I like it.
It's all good, just saying I don't want to get on their bad side because they might turn me into a newt not let me use their magic.

Browsing through giulioz' github and playing with the nord lead yesterday evening messed my mind a little... I just remember I literally dreamed about this release which was a platform emulation of the SHARC 2136x.
Like all of their catalog pwned at once lol. With better performances ect.

But I don't think it will happen (UAD). We will see.

Last night I had the weirdest dream R2R showed up with that monster he’s always talking about and said, “Here, this one’s from UAD” But the plugins were all on plates like mashed potatoes and R2R was this super old lady, like 80 years old, all wrinkled up and tiny

    And I was like Hmm… I don’t think these are UAD plugins…

And I feel like these aren’t UAD plugins.

It wasn't the potatoes but rather the gravy that were the plugins, the wrinkles on the old lady the keygens.

    Maybe this is the interpretation.

When the gravy flows, the plugins unlock. Wise words from the Old Lady of R2R.:guru:

Is there any connection between 3I/ATLAS arrival and R2R gong?

UAD is now obsolete technology that few people need. It would have been interesting 10 years ago, but not today. Today, tools such as Vocoflex, Acon Digital Remix, Apulsoft Splits, Re-Esser, Waves Sync VX (and Waves Tune in ARA2) are interesting—that is, tools that really help save time and open up previously unattainable possibilities. Not just another equalizer with compressors and other reverberators...))

If so, then UAD and some of those waiting here can relax.

Why are you comparing only vocal plugins, UAD make much more stuff that just vocal processing tools and isn't their Autotune Realtime plugin just licensed one from Antares

He's completely right. Who needs emulations of any classic analog effects units used only for Mixing, when you can just download random digital effects which are solely used for Production? Who knew about this UA shakedown? Well, besides R2R of course. Why would they not shaft all the little-guy developers who crank out random unlicensed attempts at emulating units they have never even seen in real life, nevermind had to put up on a test bench? Maybe because people would stop downloading so much junk? That would be like some kind of conspiracy theory.

Totally agree — including the point than in general people do tend to overrate UAD stuff. It’s just kind of weird that he narrowed the whole comparison down to vocals only.

I'm not sure where I said they are overrated, ever. They are overpriced and the company has some serious d*cks who work in their tech support department. They act like their desktop interfaces like the Apollo Solo and Twin are toys they don't even make themselves. Of course, then there are users who seem to get confused by convertor quality who think the Native and Apollo versions are actually different in result when only used in the DAW. Most users who say they are overrated actually fall into 2 distinct groups; a) those who do not have them or have never used them, and b) those who have them and do not understand they are not magic and cannot figure out why their mixes still suck.

Then we have a "special" group of users who think their $300 plugin never seems to sound like some Neve hardware unit that costs 10x what their plugin did. I guess if that is the expectation, it's no wonder user might find the plugin to be "overrated". That is a separate group of users who are located in Fantasyland.
