It looks like we won't see this miracle again, since there are no updates. We need to look for an alternative.

Or maybe they are working on a new version..

Even though there are no new updates!

Absolutely true. It also means they sold you a completed product; instead of rushing something out with tons of ideas to try and add later, in the "magic next update version" which also fixes everything already wrong with it. The "free updates and forthcoming additional content" should be a red flag, instead of a selling point.

Also, Melodyne will be tedious to use until the day it dies no matter what they do with it. I stick a Autotune instance before it as a channel strip insert to not use it for simple pitch corrections before transferring the audio into Melodyne. You can add almost any other feature you want there at the same time. Melodyne is a necessary evil.

 

The singer of Ultravox was very happy that Melodyne existed because now he could correct the mistakes quickly and did not have to go to the trouble of re-recording the track.
