I appreciate it, Synclavier! I do have the samples themselves.

ah I see :) so you can master them how you want, import to your Omnisphere and use as if they were there from the start

Anyone have good sources for written/video reviews to watch when this comes out?

I mean things that aren't sponsored ads that are just gonna glaze the software and then tell everyone to buy it.

    Hi there!
Does anyone know if Omnisphere will support multisamples in the future?
I mean, the ability to load custom samples to create new instruments and presets.
Right now, it seems like you can only import a single sample that's stretched across the entire keyboard range.

What might work is the new Quadzone feature in notes mode, but I doubt you can use a different soundsource for each note (likely limited to the soundsources of your 4 parts.)

That really stinks. The quadzone does sound interesting for more minimally sectioned mutlisamples, but I think it'd be a lot nicer if either there be an in-plugin multisample creator, or even a standalone multisample toolkit. Something similar to building a patch in say, Kontakt– programming velocity sensitivity, zones, all that good stuff.

I understand that Omnisphere as a whole isn't explicitly only a sample player (far from that), but for there to be an emphasis on sound design, personally, warrants the ability to create intricately designed specialized multisampled soundsources to get even more out of Omnisphere's synth capabilities outside of it's factory library.

Does anyone know if the existing Omnisphere 2 library will be completely replaced?
Or will we just have to install the new soundsources & patches, which will be added to the existing Omnisphere 2 library?
Also all my 3rd party preset banks are tagged using OmniTag, I hope Omnitagged presets integrate ok with Omnisphere 3 :dunno:

From what I've heard and seen (referring to the Omnisphere 3 page on Spectrasonics) it seems they're bringing along the entire(?) Omnisphere 2 (and I presume 1 as well) as well as the Atmosphere library. I wouldn't worry as much, unless you don't have a backup of O2 on standby incase there's omitted content!!

I'm pretty sure that yes, it will be replaced. Eric Persing talked about how despite having thousands of new sounds, Omnisphere 3's Library will be the same size as Omnisphere 2, and the reason is that they have a new way of compressing files. And I'm assuming that Omnisphere 3 will want to call upon these new file systems and not work with the old ones. And also, you probably won't be able to download Omnisphere 3's library without simultaneously downloading all of Omnisphere 2's library anyway as they will be packaged together as one thing due to this new compression.

Omnisphere itself uses multisamples, so this capability exists within the engine, but it's hidden from users, perhaps to encourage the sale of additional libraries

do we really need more presets at this point?

I know Serum 1 to Serum 2 awesome update, yet i still havnt used Serum 2 once, since it was released. To many things added, i dont need and i think thats what i like about this upgrade.
Omnisphere was for me always about using the soundsources, the presets -- good presets, not twenty EDM plucks, like Nexus has.

waiting this thing to land in the next weeks ...

I can now confirm that the first thing Omnisphere 3 does is that it downloads a 61.49GB library, even if you already have Omnisphere 2 installed. So yes. New library, Omnisphere 2's library is getting decommissioned.

Also, Omnisphere 3 just installed itself over Omnisphere 2 completely. Omnisphere 2 is gone from my computer now.
Wish it would tell you that during the installation process though, 'cause then I wouldn't have had to go and look if i have 2 STEAM folders now or if there are separate subfolders for 2 and 3 and such.

I bought Omnisphere 2 boxed, and similar to the crack, the official install process took like 3 different steps where I had to move around folders or something.
I remember thinking that this was probably just a convoluted byproduct of the crack, but it really was that convoluted for the official software too.
Omnisphere 3's installation by comparison is much more streamlined. Just takes a couple of clicks.

It says it recognises your exsisting steam folder. How did you go? Did it merge? Mine is huge, lots of third party libraries and patches.. Gonna Copy it all before the install.. Pulling the pin on the download version this weekend.

    Hi there!

I understand that already installed 3rd party libraries for Omnisphere 2 are compatible with Omnisphere 3. Nice!

But ... let's assume that I lose all data on the SSD with the STEAM folder for some reason. I can reinstall Omnisphere 3 without problems, but can I reinstall the 3rd party libraries for Omnisphere 2 in version 3 too? Or do I need to install Omnisphere 2 first to install my old 3rd party libraries again?

Or what about a more common scenario: I stumble upon an Omnisphere 2 library I want to use. Can I install it in Omnisphere 3?

Hello, of course you can always install your third-party libraries in Omnisphere 3.
Once you've installed version 3, you never need to go back to version 2 or 1.
