    M-Audio | Windows 11 Compatibility

M-Audio has been actively testing all applicable hardware and software products with each beta release of Windows 11. We understand how important it is for all our users to know exactly what works before they make the jump on any new OS updates.

We encourage all our users to remain on their current Windows OS until all necessary hardware and software products have been qualified for use with the new Windows 11 operating system.

Please refer to this article for all M-Audio hardware and software compatibility with Windows 11. This page will be updated regularly to reflect any changes to product compatibility as testing is completed.

https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon Latency Monitor will tell you in detail where the problem is. If you're not sure how to use it, there's lots of videos of it on youtube. Do this before trying anything else

I am back folks. Problem persists even when I do not use my interface nor Asio4all.
LatencyMon shows everything ok until the first audio drop (sometimes it can take minutes to happen), and then it shows this:

    It's quite a nightmare @jennyblack,
if you can't upgrade your CPU, you should reinstall Windows 10 and use an older, more resource-efficient version of Ableton.

Yes, downgrading windows and ableton is definitely on my radar. But...

After disabling my network adapter, things are working smootlhy for almost 30 min without hiccups and latencymon is reporting zero problems! Fingers crossed and hoping for the best!!!

Will be back tomorrow to report back!

    Big thanks everyone!

If you wanna avoid techs, if it continues working ok, you can get Aomei backupper 5.6(older version) and backup the 'system' before it fills up(it might actually slow down at some point), so you always have it safe with the basic running programs all stashed on a external drive/usb. It restores it quickly and you dont have to worry even if you go back to w10, one click and you are back at w11 or vice versa.

Ok, spent the last 3 hours playing with synths and drums in Ableton, and Vital standalone.
I was able to play for 45 min. straight without hiccups, but in spite of some noticeable improvement I still had 3 or 4 cracks during this period and latencymon always reported some windows/system driver as the culprit.

I am done. Will downgrade to win 10 along this week. Win11 is too heavy for my set up, at least for the time being.

Thanks to all who tried to help!

Please do realize that even going to win10 may not solve your issue. MS up/down grades (if that's what you're using) are not considered reliable as far as system stability goes after the up/down grade. I would go further to suggest that if you're using OEM (original ms) win install images that you still may have issues. I would suggest going to GhostSpectre or TinyOS install images. It's still windows just sans microsoft. Or at least a choice is given whether you want to install edge, bitlocker, and a whole bevy of other ms junkware onto your machine. Was the machine allowed to download windows updates? If yes, then that could be a likely culprit. ASIO4all is not an optimum driver especially when there are asio drivers made for your audio interface. Could be there's an update for the driver? The catch all drivers are not a good solution since they have been written to attempt to comply with generic audio hardware that doesn't have drivers of their own.

M-Audio is known for this kind of behavior , I used to use an m-audio interface and always had to start it because of audio drop-outs. Check your IRQ and see if it's conflicting with any other USB device , Try plugging it in to a diff port and see if that helps.
