the question is, will one Hardware synth be enough?

i surely only wanted one, now i have 9 here :D
luckily one has USB audio and two only put out mono signal, so i can have them all connected to the line mixer and use them ...

Okay i cant really check your links ... hope somebody else can help you further.

Because of Captain AI talking about pseudo-stereo, which has already been covered as non-applicable to synths with separate l/r outputs, he's going to think you mean your issue was with 2 input jacks and needing a mixer. How is this even possible to make AI look so stupid? Because he has switched from being helpful, to using AI as a trolling time sink. That's the only way.

One hardware synth could probably be enough if you really had to do it. Maybe a big expensive workstation board, or a nice sounding and powerful analog synth. The whole "desert island" poll thing is usually about not having a computer, which obviously changes the question dramatically.

It's nice to have a mixer anyway, but even at 24 channels; you can still run out. If you do not want all your synths able to run simultaneously, a nice patchbay that has switchable normal, half-normal, and open can be a inexpensive solution. The Samson S-Patch Plus are a good deal if all you really need is more input jacks and some patch cables.

I'm honestly going to grab a UMC1820 in the next month or two for this reason. LOL FIrst I thought I wouldn't need any inputs ("just working entirely ITB......")... then I thought 2 would be fine.. now, give me as much as you can, and ADAT! I'm becoming a (cheap) hardware addict..

here it was more a budget question, my limit was 250€, the current Audio interface only made it, because i found a retoure, which was 40€ off :D

one doesnt throw out 500 or 600€ for an audio interface as casual producer ...

and then i thought sure i can connect one synth at the time. But this really was in the way of creativity ...
