the behringer synths are not bad, but not great either.. its very basic. limited sounds
i always buy synths with a lot of presets.. 32 presets is not enough just like in the jt 4000 micro..

I owned both, once, the 101 and the CZ1. The 101 was my first synth ever and I loved it, despite the mini keys. But since the arrival of VSTi versions I prefer these, due to a lack of space. So 2 masterkeyboards and two computers open up all the possibilities.
Still, Behringer hardware like amps and mixing desks are still worth their money and if you like the haptic aspect of synths, those from Behringer are not that bad either.

Yes i admite that point you made with the Wasp, its the same with 303 and possible i am looking into a poly D, maybe.

If Behringer would make a decent sized JP8000 or here a decent sized CZ-1, instead of that mini crap, im sure people would buy, since these are classics and working and decent priced units are hard to find. Same goes for the poly D, which is just an extended minimoog, which are also very expensive.
So i welcome that Behringer tries to reissue them, but i do not welcome that they reissue, these toy sized versions.

Build quality yes, you can see they cut corners and a TD3 might not be around as long as an original 303, but for 10 years to have one and slam out Acid sounds and have that feeling hands on with everything is just so much more worth than a toy sized version.

That is definitely going to be more of a problem for certain people, for sure. For the hobbyist, these things are awesome. For the professional, of course not. I haven't experienced any problems with mine yet, but for sure those exist as you get what you pay for. But for $400 instead of like $7500 for some stuff, I think I'll happily do that. Much lower quality than the real thing, but a lot better than most plugins is how I see it.

In the end, what works for me, works for me, and I don't care if it works for you, and presumably vice/versa (I mean the "proverbial you", not you specifically). As long as affordibility is there, and quality is good enough that's what matters to me. I'm happy Behringer has given me a chance to get moderately close to things I'll never own.

BTW, I'm speaking mainly of their more full sized stuff. Not a fan of the smaller units like the JT Mini and such. Haven't tried those mini/micro units, but they do seem like they are cheaper quality and closer to a plugin from what I've seen in reviews.

Yeah, I like their dirt cheap copies of unobtanium synths too, but they did screw Arturia over on the Keystep which was a douche move.

These days, most companies just copy each other whenever they can—phones, hardware, cars, apps. Copying competitors is pretty standard in almost every industry, and Behringer’s nothing unusual.
If something sells or works it will be copied
I see this more as a tribute to Arturia, their design and features became the benchmark, and they created an industry standard that everyone wants to copy
since the price is almost the same you can choose yourself what to buy
