behringer and their mini synths. they are cheap yes, they feel so small. Just like JT-4.

i find them useless, better get a softsynth for that money.

i have two monosynths from them, they are good quality and fun to program. But they are not that small.

Idk why they made them into such toy size synths.

i mean a JT-16 would be amazing, or also a CZ-1 but rack sized or even with a mini keyboard, but this its bad ...

I had a CZ-101 many a moons ago and I loved it (despite it being... well, cheap), so I'm tempted to get this just for the memories. Sure, the Arturia emu does well here too, but there's nothing like plonking away on a tiny keyboard.

But then again, maybe not. I'm still trying to figure out if the Pro VS Mini actually transmits sensible controller data as I could do with an extra XY joystick controller. But as it is with Uli Beer Ringer, the manuals are next to useless. No MIDI chart? Get the fuck out of here. And before anybody starts, using a gamepad controller is not an option here, neither is a XY trackpad. But that's too offtopic already.

So yeah, if it's cheap this might be great for some solid digital thump, kinda like Korg Volca FM2 does.

I own a lot of synths from Behringer, along with most of the big-name ones, and honestly they all sound great. I’ve had almost no issues with them either. I really don’t get all the snobbery.
And don’t start with the whole “you don’t know the Moog low-pass filter” thing.

atleast their acid machines are great?

nothing to do with money. you can for sure make good stuff with JT-4, but its just fiddley imo and it bears the question, if its usuable?

their take on the 303s is actual pretty good, they kept the way how the 303 handled, preserved it and you just go there and put out some nice pattern, and route it through a pedal or record it in the DAW and use it. Its great.
But here, the knobs are big, its good accessible, something i dont really see with that mini synths. Thats my point.

And people have done nice tunes with toy instruments before, so its not about aiming about something, hell Eurythmics have used milk bottle filled with water to record sounds for a song. (actual useable :D )

I have the Wasp and a TD-3 and both are pretty killer actually. The Wasp was a dream come true as I will never own an original one (if any are even left in working condition anymore), that thing sounds fucking awesome. And the TD-3 well. I personally am sick to death of the 303, but this thing is absolute fun to play with and sounds pretty dead on to me. Their stuff isn't bad, but you do 'get what you pay for' as far as longevity goes. Although my Wasp seems pretty sturdy, and luckily was new enough it doesn't have the double triggering issue. My TD-3 actually had a 20 oz mug of hot tea spilled on it, let it dry out for a week and that thing still raves til the cows come home.

But ultimately you put them next to something like my Prophet Rev 2 or TD-1000, or even my 'cheap' SH-4d, and you'll see where the cost cutting comes into effect when it comes to Behringer.

This new mini synth is giving me a phase distortion craving, but if I want to get the Cizzle for VCV I’ll have to wait… also that guy in the video is kinda chubby, unlike the price of that hardware they got… maybe I’ve got something already that’ll help with this phase…

I get the "snobbery".. People hate that Behringer essentially are making money "stealing" other people's work, but you know, like you I'm a happy customer. I could never afford the real deals. I just bought my 4th behringer synth today, an Edge to go with a Crave, Model D and Pro 800. Love them all!

I like it from what I see and hear, although I'll wait until they release a 6-voice version.
Only 3 voices? Like in the old Volca FM?
Let's wait for CZ-2 Mini

The "other peoples' work" is usually just a general distaste for the way they do business. Most people with original stuff don't care anymore, because all these emulations and knock-off versions do is inflate the prices of originals even more. They impact the price of originals no more than Roland putting out a 303 plugin themselves. The most valid reason to not buy anything from them is their manufacturing quality problems and other problems with the actual units. There is no such thing as a Roland TB-303 MK40 for a reason.
