Is there a vst out there that can do something like that?

I just had an idea. For example, I often make melodies sound richer by layering them, such as a flute with a piano or brass, but both playing exactly the same thing.
Is there a VST that can do the following:

Let's imagine we have the melody of the two instruments and can merge them together, not in the sense of simply bouncing them to a master track, but rather like mixing blue and yellow to get green. It's kind of difficult to explain, but I think you know what I mean.

I would probably call it morphing together or something Like this. .

Many. You are looking for plugins/libraries/synths with a... wait for it... Morph function. So you're probably is correct :) I'm mostly hardware on the instrument side... so unless you wanna pick up a SE3x or Pro3 or SE02 (the SE's do it via the editor) etc I don't have recs, but just searching "patch morph vst" and you should find some. If you already have the sounds you want to blend together, Zynaptiq Morph will blend any 2 signals. Izotope has something similiar. This will obviously give different results than patch morphing within one vst instrument. A vst instrument with patch morph will give you more control, but also may not have the sounds you want in the first place (ie, realistic piano).

Zynaptiq Morph 3 Pro for certain. It's ok for patch morphing some realistic instruments, but it is basically just combining various characteristics of the two sounds. You have it as an insert on one channel and feed another audio channel to it via sidechain. You can also use it as a midi-controlled effect. But where it is actually worth its suggested price tag is making extreme sounds, wild granular sort of things.

I can't help but think it would work for what you are asking, but maybe there is something with more features that would still let you keep it dialed back and get as much actual change from the effect. It's exactly what I want, so a tiny alarm bell is going off.

JMG Sound Transmutator is good at this. It offers many different methods to blend the sound.

Also Morph, as others have pointed out.
