Yes we know that site, it's the prime and best source for synth firmware on the net and has been for years - but if you'd checked, it has zero JP8000 or JP8080 dumps, so in this context, it's meaningless, unless someone posts them there...

 

Yes @dkny , i'm sorry, you are completly right, my bad. I overlooked and saw 8080, it was 880. Sorry again. Let's wait, we'll manage to get this somehow!

No problem to dump ROM for TUS.
Seen what they have done to the chip at the end of the video ?

They already have at least one dump, because they used it in their synth audio demo.
They just need to "leak it" silently

 

If you look at the new promo image, youll see the os loaded as 0001.. 0008.mid file, so are these those files that dled from Roland site?

Previously, we were searching for the JP-8080 firmware, but since there’s no sign of a separate version, it’s most likely they made the same firmware for both versions of the synthesizer.

Exactly what i said earlier : they dumped it themselves. Because dumping a ROM for TUS is like taking a coffee.
Frankly, this is not a problem at all. It is even the easiest part.

Directions for using UpdateSMF

This is an application for playing back Standard MIDI Files that can be used in place of a full-featured sequencer or librarian program. This application is only available for IBM compatible computers at this time. You will need a MIDI interface on your computer to use this program.
Here is the procedure to use this application:

1) Copy the file "updateSMF.exe" to your computer.
2) Launch the application by double clicking on the appropriate icon.
3) Click on the arrow by MIDI Out Device and select the MIDI output you wish to use.
4) Click on Path and use the browse dialog box to locate the Standard MIDI Files you have downloaded (they should be in a
directory by themselves) and click on OK.
5) Click on Scan SMF, you should see a number of files appear in the window immediately next to this button.
6) Press SEND to begin transmitting the files. The application will send all of the files sequentially.
7) When the update is completed, press Exit.
