Windows 10 support ends on October 14, 2025, after which Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates, security fixes, or technical support. While your PC will continue to function, it will become more vulnerable to security threats without these updates.
What happens after October 14, 2025?
    • No more free updates: You won't receive regular security fixes or software and feature updates from Windows Update.
    • Increased security risks: Your device will be more vulnerable to viruses, malware, and other security threats.
    • No technical support: Microsoft will no longer offer technical assistance for Windows 10.

Don't always believe what you read; they are usually deliberately stoking fears to get you to switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11. It's better to make a full backup of your C drive to a second hard drive – then, if you become infected, you can immediately restore your system using an emergency disc.

Make sure you use good passwords, and if you don't visit porn sites on the internet, nothing will happen to you. Don't open unknown file attachments; most threats arrive via email.

Revenue, revenue, revenue. Furthermore, you'll be monitored even more in Windows 11, and your data will be collected. How do you get satisfied Windows 10 customers to Windows 11? By simply brazenly ending support. For Windows 10 users, don't be intimidated and just stick with Windows 10. I am also a Windows 11 user. I no longer have Defender and have deactivated everything that sends data.

Mr. Pohlmann, how easy is it for hackers to take control of servers and intercept information?

Hardware components can contain backdoors that can help take over servers and intercept information. This could be, for example, a hardware security module, such as a Trusted Platform Module (TPM). Here, a hacker could use a backdoor to unauthorizedly read security-relevant information, such as secret keys.

Is spyware also used in this process?

Since the hardware is essentially passive and is addressed via the operating system and its software components, it is always necessary that suitable attack software, known as malware, is installed on an IT system to carry out this attack.

How high do you estimate the risk for companies or private individuals of becoming victims of espionage activities involving state hackers?

Since Edward Snowden's revelations, it's been abundantly clear: the probability of international, state surveillance is 99 percent. If we are targeted, we will be successfully monitored. Whether we are targeted depends on the current interests and importance of the companies and private individuals.

    Don't forget:

In reality, Windows 11 works perfectly and without problems once you have configured it correctly.

    THANKS !

Windows 10 support extended for EU users
    As of: 30.09.2025
Microsoft has extended support for Windows 10, which was scheduled to end in October, for private users. They will receive another year of free security updates. Upgrading to Windows 11 will also be free.

Poppycock... Personally, dont use winblows update now, or their shitty "tech support"... They are required by law (in the u.s. at least) to provide the public with FREE patches to major security vulnerabilities, which is all you really need anyhow... Was running win7 quite successfully until last year when they made changes to remote mail availability which win7 couldn't support. It'll be the same with win10...wont be dropping it anytime sooner, or later for that matter...

For more sales and new products, hardware companies and Microsoft have created a dirty policy to sell more. They will most likely put a lot of hardware restrictions on Windows 12, forcing users to buy more up-to-date hardware.

As long as the companies' minimum support for music software is Win 10, I'll stay. If not, I'll have to upgrade later.

Hardware restriction on Windows 11 is related to PassKey and security system Microsoft is about to implement in 11 to replace passwords.
This system is based on the TPM2.0 security chipset, that's why it's already a requirement for future win 11 versions.

People want more security on computer/digital systems but they still use 10+ years old PCs ... Do you still use 10+ years old smartphones ??

Buddy you were the one fear mongering about ending support for Windows 10 every five minutes before you were banned as "Beat16". Now you disagree with others who say the same?

I wish people would shut up(not here, I mean in general). Windows 11 comes out but you need new hardware to install it - internet full of people moaning at microsoft as everyone should be able to upgrade to windows 11. Windows 10 comes to an end after one of the longest runs of any OS version after years of notice and the internet fills up with people moaning about being forced to upgrade to windows 11.
I dont like windows or microsoft, there technical support is crap. But every other OS before windows 10 went through the exact same process, just people did not sit crying about it.

At Vista's end, there was great joy.
Supplanted by hate when Seven became Eight.
Oh the relief of Eight turning Ten.
In Ten-Eleven, there is only dread.

98SE to 2000 was the best though.

The TPM thing was defeated very early in pretty much every optimized win11 image there is. Optimized images are all I ever use so the TPM deal is a non-issue. There's a funny thing about all this hoopla about increased security on "newer" systems - the only thing that is really increased on these "new" systems is the amount of junk/spyware included in the OEM install images. Security wise they aren't much better than what win7 provided. The increased telemetry, "ms store" dependence, increased difficulty in getting rid of windows update, and the rest of the garbage has only proved to increase what MS wants out of you the consumer. As far as "smartphones" go never use em and don't need/want em.

Yes, I've been using a mobile phone for 13 years. Galaxy S Duos

If I and people like me had money, they wouldn't have to wait in line for a package or plugin in Audioz, they would have quickly bought the package or plugin they wanted.

In terms of security, I actually trust hackers and crackers here Our warriors like R2R VR TCD MOCHA....even though I know they can take advantage of us users, I trust them more than big companies that are connected to governments.

As Saint says: we're not pirates, we're poor artists
Yes, we are poor and we are trying to get out of this situation we are in with our limited resources.

Imagine these places I've drawn. In a place, there are dozens or hundreds of poor people sitting and I say this, and we all look at each other with sadness, anger, and hope. :bleh:
