Suddenly all installed u-he plugs timebombed / unregistered without any notice, eg DIVA isn't working anymore (after months) with the doa serial.

cant see any net traffic when entering the serial again (and refused by diva), so the check must be done locally. any idea what to clean up exactly? have purged user/mydocuments, diva plugin folder and diva.data folder, but no success, same on other plugs.

anyone else?

besides... u-he did it... they are making good plugins so I consider to buy them in late summer... unfortunately, they never do any discounts, not even for students like me,... big shame!

 

Have you check registry entries ?
Command line -> regedit -> hit enter

 

sure, but there are no "u-he" or "diva"/"zebra" kinda strings... I guess the plugins are using not that obvious strings :/

 

Let's wait for someone else to chime in, I'm on Mac so no big help.
If I remember well Catalyst said he successfully restored to preinstall state after a bombing
to be able to reinstall them. Maybe ho know how to.

 

meh, even the old version isnt working anymore still asking for a valid serial. thats why i think its about something in the filesystem or registry in hidden (= bad named) entries.

note: revo uninstaller doesn't know u-he stuff. u-he installer is hiding something...

 

Did you try changing your system clock to sometime in the past ie. before your plugin stopped working?

Damn i went to take a look at my u-he plugins hoping you would be the only one with that problem (and being able to resolve it ofcourse im not a douche) LOL... same thing happened over here...

 

All of mine got the time bomb as well, along with that of several friends of mine. I was able to get the old XDB releases of zebra and diva working again, though many of the newer presets available here aren't usable on the old versions. Does anybody have any idea how to get the newer versions working again???

 

Hmm happened to me also and i dont even have an internet connection on my PC so it must be the DATE as i guess we all install them at different dates mine is pretty newly installed less then three months

 

To add to Guitarmaniac64's idea, I reckon u-he adopts an alias name and add a set of registry keys under that name.

Surely the plugin code is not self modifying.
The time-bomb might be simply a counter (in a registry key) that increments +1 for every day since install or on every run of the plugin.
Or a calculation based on date/number of days installed/number of times run/....

I dont think Urs is falling for that old trick i gonna try just to be sure i have tested only Zebra and Diva but i guess all the DOA license stuff is not working anymore

 

Nope doesn't work for me aswell. But i haven't rebooted or whatever since i changed it. A team/person might pull off a alternative for us in the future if they're able to/want to. Or it would be cool if someone posts a previous working version/ wise words on AudioZ..

Either way. I can live without it.. i mean i have enough alternatives the stupid thing is that i made a demo i am supposed to finish within a couple of days... and a bassline i made with some automation on Diva plays a big role in that song lmao, but hey everyone got their own stuff they got to deal with, i can remake something like that easily with massive and a appregiator..so no point .

On Mac (10.9.3) Zebra, Diva, Ace & Filterscape are back in Demo-mode again. Only Zebralette still works. Bummer!!

 

Gonna try to install the old R2R versions and see what happens

Is OS irrelevant? Mac and PC users both experiencing this?

Cant tell exactly who is what system. Sounds like mainly PC users.

 

Diva still functions on my Windows system, though I never really use it. It probably is a usage thing or all of those that are having a bad time of it are in the far east or Australia and the vicinity. Time will tell.

 

R2R? or do you have those DOA licence where you put in name and serial?
