    Hi, does anyone know what .exe file extractor exists to extract the VR and TCD installers? I extract the R2R installers with InnoExtract.

    What operating system are you using?

    You usually download compressed files and unpack the WinRar file with WinRar or 7-Zip!
    You can download WinRar from its sister site; it's the most widely used program in the world.

    you can't Their installers are password protected for some unknown reason, which doesn't speak well of them.
    Use Sandboxie or some other sandbox to install them and extract the files.

    Thanks for this, but since it's old it doesn't currently work for VR installers.

    What I've always been doing is install the program-plugins, then copy all the files and registry entries it installed and pack them into a my "manual installer". :wink:

    It feels more comfortable to do it in a Virtual Machine OS, or in a "disposable WinOS" as I do it, so all the crap stays in one place or gets deleted. :yes:

    Installing programs-plugins "manually" works most of the time. I rarely encountered some plugins that use files in System folder. They usually put files only in "Program Files", "Program Files/Common Files", "User" and "ProgramData" folders, and create "HKey/Local/Software"registry entries.

    For unpacking files from setups Universal Extractor does a great job if the archive is not password protected (or you know the password).

    You need the most recent version of InnoExtractor as most installers get compiled with an up to date version of Inno Setup.
    When using an old version of InnoExtractor, it can't read installers compiled with current Inno builds.

    Alternatively you can use InnoUnpacker (Github). This is basically the same but free and it supports
    all the current builds of Inno Setup.

    TCD installers btw. are not protected or compiled in a modified Inno version.
    Just tested his latest release, worked in the current version of InnoExtractor.

    I'm using this one;

    That innoextractor works for all of R2R's (even latest).. It does not work for TCD (latest, yesterday) or V.R. releases... UniversalExtractor (latest) doesn't work either.

    The unpacker (github) works on TCD. Doesn't work on V.R. or BTCR releases (neither of them work with UniversalExtractor either).
