Excuse my ignorance, but what would it be like for PT and Sonnox to be on a blacklist?

If we're ever that lucky, UAD or CEDAR would be a priceless gift and among the most legendary ever! Both companies are the top of the industry.

If R2R they broke a huge protection, doesn't that mean all plugins with the same protection will be broken?

UAD used to be pricy. But their model is pretty much akin to Waves’ nowadays. It’s true it’s never been done, though.

Spitfire has never been done (Kontakt libs, yes, Spitfire’s own engine, no) and they cost an arm and a leg.

Audio Ease plugins are insanely priced, but some earlier version have already been done.

    SINEplayer, Synchron…?

Its Amazon, the shopping giant! I have it on good authority that R2r has decided to step away from the music world, and instead are focusing on e-commerce and woman's clothing. They have cracked the search engine, allowing you to further refine your search when looking for a new dress. They've also partnered with various clothing developers to offer, a Super Special One Time Only Halloween Buy One Get THREE Free Any Item Of Your Choice, Act Now Because This Deal Won't Last Forever.

Thank You R2R!! We Love you!

Then waiting until Halloween October 31, 2025 is almost like waiting for the teams' X-Mass releases.

True, the "UAD sounds better" narrative is all about their DSP hardware. That external box was what enabled high sample rate processing from day one, which we all know makes an audible difference. Waves, on the other hand, took twenty years just to implement oversampling even being the first to popularize the usage of plugins.

These days, with CPU power being what it is, UAD is finally releasing native plugins. But the truth is, most of their catalog is still running on two decade old design and code. Their new stuff isn't anything groundbreaking, just new collaboration here and there, same play. It was a genius marketing play back then, particularly for old, veteran engineer, that had a hard time switching to digital/hybrid world, and now even better, for beginners because their favourite youtube influencer said it's the best. It makes you feel like you're getting an authentic experience when you're really just paying extra for the brand that obviously wants their cut.

I commented on the original release, at first I thought it was UAD, but right after sending the comment I got that rush that it might be Spitfire Audio (the non-kontakt stuff). I have a few reasons for believing that:

    1. Highly coveted products, considered a Tier A company
    2. Their libraries are usually very expensive, UAD is not nearly as expensive. R2R can't possibly supply 5 digits in US dollars of libraries by themselves
    3. Some of their libraries have been cracked already, one person in the sister site bought it from taobao (Chinese website, AliExpress-like) and confirmed it works. So, it's possible
    4. Last time R2R asked for help, it was for UVI libraries. Feels oddly familiar

I'm fairly confident it's Spitfire. It could also be VSL or Orchestral Tools, but for some reason I don't think those are as coveted in general.
