I don't think it's DMCA, looks like it wasn't properly cracked,
I've blocked the home calling domain and the license file got copied to AppData
but the plugin still asks you to login to your account.

 

Not DMCA as other SWAM releases such as R2R's are still up. Just an improper crack, or maybe even compromised.

As an aside, on the YouTube video for VariFlute, people called out Audio Modeling in the comments for using AI voice over, and in response they promptly disabled all comments on videos related to this product. Made me lose a lot of respect for Audio Modeling.

 

I doubt that it was compromised since it came from MOCHA. It was just broken.

 

It is still up on "Friendly Site" Soft Archive, but if really broken, I guess there is no point in trying it.

 

Yeah I've tried it and it didn't work, and not just for me, most of the comments said the same, I remember only seeing one person saying it worked for him. It's strange.

There's been a lot of broken releases of late. Didn't seem to stop anyone...

 

Very true, but those at least got passed the activation screen and "functioned" somewhat,
this one just showed an account login screen, it's completely useless,
I think that's why they removed, but I might be wrong.

for some reason if you change the compatibility of the standalone and DAW to Windows 8 it works fine

A new SWAM update just arrived. And it has the same issue, which it did not have before. What is actually the downside of using this compatibility mode in regard to the performance of the daw also in relation to all the other plugins in my set? thanks

 

R2R just released all SWAM plugins, including VariFlute, there's a VariFlute release by TCD as well. I'll test them both and see if they work without the compatibility option on.

Edit: The TCD REPACK version works flawlessly, no need to mess with compatibility or anything.

Just get the "Audio Modeling SWAM VariFlute v1.0.0 Repack-TCD" release from the sister site, it works without Win 8 compatibility.

But yes, in the original MOCHA release, the login screen disappears with Win 8 compatibility on.
