Did Not work this way. Tried doing it.

 

VCRUNTIME140_1.dll is part of the R2R crack, flagged as virus by Defender.
You should add the file to whitelist in Defender, and keep a copy of it somewhere (rename as .old or something) just in case.
R2R version of Live 12 cant run without VCRUNTIME140_1.dll
and VCRUNTIME140_1.dll is not the Microsoft VCRUNTIME140.dll at all.

 

Yes, I think, it has been flagged directly by microsoft, as adding to the whitelist of defender doesn't even work. R2R should do something for the next ableton 12.5 release to fix this issue

 

you can patch ableton instead and place the R2R dll out of the program folder.

the job done will be the same without an external hook.

search and replace take 3s to fix.

 

I'm using Defender / Win 11 / Live 12 R2R, no problem.
File is in the whitelist, folder is in the whitelist, Defender doesnt bother anymore.

 

MOST people doesnt know what they are doing ... that's why internet is full of malware/spam/spywares ...

 

Didn't get you. where to find this code? And where outside exactly should I place the dll>

 

open ableton exe with a text editor (notepad + works)
outside the program folder mean anywhere else, you can even delete it.
because it is conflictual with a patched exe.

 

It shouldn't be surprising at all.

 

everybody started from zero knowledge in computing.

the double patching (internal patched + external patching) result an opening error.
the job done is the same, you can read inside the R2R dll, it will show the code1 replaced by code2.
the R2R external patching fail if the exe is already patched. it simply don't find the code1 part to replace in the exe.
