Yeah, i agree that any genre that needs extra smack needs a DBX. It's like the 1176's for Rock. The slower/program dependant attack let phat transients sing like bombs. At the same time it's very grabby and not relaxed. I'm going to emphasize this recommendation for the aim of the thread.
Waves version is solid, don't underestimate it. But my personal favorite is Fuse Audio VCE-118, since mostly i'm using DBX on parallel. But if i'm putting it on a bus, i will often go for Waves because of the hpf sidechain. I once saw Tchad Blake using it on the 2buss and got addicted to it's effect if i want the track to be less wild on the peaks but still with some attitude.
