I disagree with you, mostly. The Mixing and Mastering process takes the place of an engineer, not the songwriter and musicians. Yikes!!! No wonder music has mostly sucked since the late 90s. The whole bedroom thing is extremely convenient and makes it possible for everyone to create music, but there are very big drawbacks. In my case, I am wearing all the hats, which means I am not focusing on being amazing at one or two things. My talent and time is spread out and I am not focused. I rarely, if ever, complete anything. By "hiring" A.I. as my mix and master engineer, I would be wearing less hats, thus focus on songwriting and musicianship. While mixing and mastering is important, I do agree with you that these steps require less skill/talent than writing and playing. There's a reason why The Beatles are more appreciated than Geoff Emerick . . . not to say he wasn't talented or important . . . he was. But, he was replaceable . . . the four lads were not!! So, my point is this . . . . I cannot afford to hire a dude like Geoff Emerick, but I can install some software.

What A.I. can help us realize our musical aspirations?

    Any.

The rest of the comment does not fit to "the ai is better at composing than most people" as long as you strive for economic success. If not, it doesn't matter anyways.

If you are having A.I. compose your songs, what's the point?

I don't get how after half a decade you're still looking for the absolute bestest most perfectest awesomest amazingest software/hardware instead of... making music - seems like you've been going in circles for years with 0 progress.

This is indeed a very important question.
If you let the ai take over your production tasks without any economical ambitions, what's the point then?

That's because it is content farming. If you were looking for something with actual purpose, it could be a bit of a letdown.

Go to the sister site, get the Sonible Learn bundle. No excuses since you can get it for both Windows and Mac. If you still can't finish your tracks, it's a you issue or you're just trolling to waste everyone's time. I'd like to believe it's the former.

There's already plenty of options in this thread for you to start, put together with every other thread you made over time, I think there's enough knowledge shared already. I hope the next thread is a finished track.

    1. Am I the only one struggling with this?
    2. I don't remember asking you.

"Content Farming?" I never heard of that, but if it means searching for solutions . . . where's my ho and sickle?

This thread was not created as a means to bash me in the comfort and safety of your bedroom. If you are not interested in sharing what your favorite A.I. type software for mixing is, then why are you posting? Move on to a thread you are interested in.

Because you always seem unhappy and frustrated. I just wanted to give you some well meant advice: Stop restarting on the absolute basics every 6 months if you want to be content at some point.

oh I see, I'd say we're fairly close to having tools that can generate/match instruments/vocals/mix to a single instrument (or vocal) reference track,
here's an example for vocals (lyrics+prompt) on instrumental groove: https://on.soundcloud.com/yGWyF5XbH2c04BwP1d

If mixing is simple and an irrelevant step in creating music, I assume you're a Grammy winning multi-millionaire from the trade?

I just know how to create a senseful tonal balance.

A Grammy is a very weak indicator. You also do not get it by just mixing as one person - it's mostly a team. Or you have been the producer.

I think this is a misconception of how a "song" works.

Mix-wise, tone-wise whatever you want, but what about feel-wise?
It will sound like classic rock if you track some players which play their instruments in the feeling of a classic rock track and play an actual classic rock composition, even with modern mixing (whatever that means). For example: it is not purely coincidental that so many good guitar players telling "tone is in the hands" over and over again.

To me the whole discussion about AI lacks about how shitty it is FEEL-WISE. On so many levels. No matter how good AI will become in future - even in fields like "human-like-rhythm-feel" - how will it evoke the same feeling as actually doing it? Making music?
