    Did you ever find out? Conversely, will legit M4L devices work on a cracked Ableton?

    Pirating Max 4 Live is literally pirating Ableton Suite. There is no pirated M4L addon for Live Standard, because that would mean Live Standard would need to be cracked to activate the addon, which to my knowledge hasn't been done.

    Legit M4L devices work both in k'd M4L and k'd Max/MSP.

    how will you run M4L stuff in standard, its only available as @Will Kweks already wrote in Suite.

    yes you can however use the M4L device in a patched Max version. But this seems pointless, since it is meant to run in Live. Otherwise most of these are pretty much useless.

    install two different copies of live....? but make sure you understand how to handle prefs files and such.
