They have been super sketch with the scripts and ads they are trying to run. They are shielding pedos while simultaneously doing shady stuff with the website? They need to be removed from partners or whatever. i will never use katfile ever again

 

Yes... similar here with Firefox ESR and Debian 12. When I (with log in) open katfile.cloud link and click download, it re-routs me to revenuecpmgate which Forefox nor I don't like and I just gave up trying. Captcha is working for me, though, but I never get to download the file. To me it does seem like Katfile had been hacked, again. Even when they changed the domain to .cloud.

I'd suggest that even if you somehow get to download any files, be careful with those files. I wouldn't trust them. Hackers could inject viruses or whatever into those archives. Maybe I am a bit paranoid, but better be safe than sorry, eh? Use Rapidgator links only for the time being.

 

Yeah... in Debian we get a PDF printer functionality by default so you can print to PDF from every app with ctrl+p. The best thing - you don't even need CUPS service (Printer server in Linux), as it's a separate little helper service from Ghostcript that does it. Just sayin'... Cheers!

 

it does suck because katfile was the only one that didnt make you wait. nitroflare doesnt allow VPN. beggars cant be choosers though. i think staff made the right decision

 

Many "real" news sites have all moved to subscriptions now, and they are mostly very reasonable prices when you compare them with buying an actual newspaper. That "save for printing" method of grabbing the page without triggering the sites' scripts to "enforce" their little attempt at a paywall is pretty effective; but it's actually unneccessary in 99% of cases. Their whole little subscription paywall idea is bypassed by a simple right click-> Open link in Private Window in Opera. It's hard to believe something so low-tech works on such big websites in 2025.

This whole Katfile thing seems rather elaborate to just spread some malware, but maybe not if that malware is a bitcoin wallet stealer style pickpocket pup. Anything is possible, but I'm sticking with my guess that these changes and "problems" they are supposedly having are really just a harbinger of the site shutting down without warning or refunds/payouts of anyone's money owed or paid for service already. They probably aren't very worried about the impending complaints to the BBB.
