Hey there! I know it's a bit of an odd question but how do I completly remove a R2R Smooth Operateor Pro from a Windows PC? I've recently bought the original software and wanted to do a clean install and register my license. I've checked all the typical locations and removed everything I could find related to Baby Audio (also in the registry). Still, when I install the original software it's working perfectly without authorizing. So there must be some traces left. All in all not a big thing - just keen to know...

    Thanks in advance!

Lots of people around these parts mention using Revo, but I typically use CCleaner and Everything for these tasks.

Baby Audio stores their license files in a weird folder named "af854ba56b229a56c422472ee764eba8".

You can find that folder in C:\Users\-YourUsername-\AppData\Roaming on Windows (don't know where on Mac).
Excite Audio does it the same way. You can read those folder/license names in a debugger as strings
and in some cases even the license contents, which can be used to activate their plugins without the need
of a keygen or legit license but thats another story.

On Windows, open any explorer window, type/copy into the address bar
    Code:
    %AppData%\af854ba56b229a56c422472ee764eba8
and hit enter to open that folder.

The license file you're looking for is named "36f52b8a33b2e8f3f0ee35deb3145ec8.lcs".
Delete it and you can register Smooth Operator Pro the legit way.

The other files you'll see in that folder are licenses for all the other Baby Audio products
generated by the keygen. If you don't use other Baby Audio products, you can delete
    these files as well.

Since Baby Audio plugins place the license data after you've registered them but not
during the installation process, Revo uninstaller and other tools have issues locating
those files, especially because of the weird naming. Even searching manually
with "Everything search engine" wouldn't reveal it in that case.

Amazing! Thank you very much for the detailed information and explanation. I've noticed this folder before, but wasn't sure what it'S about. Will delete the folder now and see how it goes ;)

Thank you very much for the quick help!

:deep_facepalm: Wrong. "Everything search engine" does reveal those files.

When using the obvious and correct keywords duh (eg .lcs). And even without the the right keyword you can still find it by manually searching, for example keyword "Baby" finds Baby Audio/TEAM(R2R, BUBBIX,TCD etc)/License. Et voila!

So you see while you offered a solution to this single licensing issue, you didnt explain the how and it doesn't help anyone with solving future similar issues. A definitive blanket statement such as yours reads like Everything isn't a viable solution, when it is actually literally the best solution for finding literally "everything" on even the most stubborn multi drive partitioned systems. You should be more careful and clarify such statements to avoid spreading misleading false information.

Also obvious you should always look at installation/uninstallation notes, as well as patched files, prior to and following doing a full wipe. Lastly you can and should always cross reference installation dates and times to find shitfuck developers residual files, like Baby Audio and this one. This isn't rocket science here.

Not for me, it doesn't. Searching for .lcs returns a list of files with a big string of characters, but nothing tells me what these are. These licence files aren't in a folder indicating they belong to a Baby Audio product. Searching for Baby returns plenty of settings, presets, etc. (and a million Goldbaby samples) but no licence files.

Searching the registry for Baby Audio tells me where the main files are installed to, but tells me nothing about the licence and where that is.

I've only got Transit from Baby Audio installed and so perhaps that works differently, but it seems unlikely. The folder r4e pointed to appears to contain licence files for all of the Baby products, but it's not in a Baby Audio/TEAM/License folder. No such folder exists anywhere on my hard drive.

I'm on Windows 10. Perhaps it's different on Windows 11?

Well, your approach didn't work so it may well be.

Everyone knows this but how would anyone know that the license files have the extension *.lcs
and are saved in that weird folder structure while not giving you any hint that they're related to Baby Audio?
Do you know the name, place & function of every single screw in your car if you're not a car mechanic?

I for myself just know it because I debugged/reversed their plugins for exercise & fun.

In that case you'd find the downloaded installer/release files from the teams but that doesn't reveal the license file naming either.

Since the OP asked specifically for R2R's release, where the license files don't get pre-installed with the setup,
those files also don't get logged into the uninstaller database (unins000.dat for inno setup) so they stay on the disk afer uninstalling.
    Therefore my explaination.

    It's the same on win 10 & 11.
R2R's keygen places the licenses for all of their baby audio releases, even if you just install 1 of them.
    Didn't check other teams releases.

Mate, sounds like a you problem. Everything is a fantastic utility. If it exists on your computer, it is in the search results. Just because you dont know how to read the results, doesnt mean it doesnt work innit. And FFS fellas, read the NFO and release notes! All of the Baby Audio plugs I have installed have the license file locations noted. :)

Yes, it does. Inside my Baby Audio Transit folder is an NFO and LICENSE folder which contains the .lcs file. From the NFO
    And Everything found both.

Then you have a Bubbix release but as written before, the question was about the R2R release.

Mate, if you check the R2R release notes, it is also listed. :winker:

Alright guys, Chaplain2683 already selected his solution, so rather than argue, lets all move on to something else now. TY for helping him out.
