Windows 11 user with 2000 plus libraries i have created a bunch of nicht files the years and lost my excel spreadsheet that I kept track of all SNPID ids .. what the latest tool to find duplicates SNPID files on windows.. I had a tool years back i could run and it would find all duplicates on all my shared drives..

 

Generally, the BEST way (in my opinion) is to open the most recent NativeAccess.xml and search there. The most popular method: The "bobdule" releases (eg. kontakt) include an autoparser that neatly extracts all the SNPIDs from the NativeAccess.xml proper just for you. Maybe you should clean up a bit beforehand and throw out any unused libraries from the over 2000, then it will definitely be even faster and easier for you to find SNPIDS! (Unless you really use all of them... just a personal thought.)

I have your tool from the sister site but I cannot run the greeting.exe I tried with admin.. on win 11.. any thoughts? Also will it quickly find duplicates or do i have to search?

 

There is a dynamic nativeaccess.xml which is kept updated:
https://api.native-instruments.com/static/phints/NativeAccess.xml

It contains every valid SNPID for every "official" library. If you place that file in the correct location, all you have to worry about are libraries which are "homemade" from sample packs, etc. It would greatly reduce the number of "duplicates" you need to fix. If you had a spreadsheet of them in Excel already, you could just highlight the column with the SNPID numbers, do format, conditional formatting, highlight duplicates, pick a color to format cells with, and it would show you them all in about 1 second.
