Why are you even doing music in the first place then? The creative decisions are the fun part of it. Sure as hell i would let AI do the mastering and parts of the mixing for me (because those aspects are the most annoying and time-consuming to me). But let them write melodies, basslines or drum breaks for me? I mean, why do people even do music then, if you have nothing really to say? It shouldn't be some assembly-line-kinda job where you just churn out mediocre songs to fill the already overblown libraries of streaming services with content.

The "anyone can do it" part is actually really scary. We are often glorifying the democratization of production tools that has happened in the last 30 years but where has it led us? It is extremely hard to get recognized nowadays in this ocean of mediocre producers and artists who all fight for attention on social media and streaming services. You can see that for example in the club scene where other factors became more important (identity, sexuality, your social media game etc) because nowadays you don't need a studio and years of practice to create a mediocre club track or start a DJ career.
This AI revolution will be the next step in this regard, we will see famous people (who sometimes were already using ghost producers, like Heidi Klum for example) abusing their reach and fame to suddenly become "music producers" themselves.

Last week, I met game producers who work with a contract clause: 'WE DO NOT WANT AI-GENERATED CONTENT'. I loved it, because it was a business negotiation! :headbang:

That's incredible, Lois! I never imagined it, but AI could lead to a reaction from the artistic class (be they Chinese, American, Russian, Brazilian, etc.) against pure commercialism that acts only out of financial interest. In short, it could unify artists of different nationalities and political positions, generating the potential for unification and reaction, do you understand?

other conclusion i came to , even in the golden times people begun music out of wrong intensions , maybe not hard has today , but back then you had to learn to be are really good intrumentalist , same for the later sample artists .
And thats what the defenders which may it use for good lets say technique of this tools not understand , the majority is using it as short path and it does the oppossite of pushing individualism .its a downward spiral .

There will continue to be musicians around the world who learn and master an instrument, and some even study music or an instrument at university. It's up to each individual whether they use AI or not, whether they learn an instrument or not.

You can only set a good example and tell people or readers the truth, or what you believe to be the truth, about music/AI, etc. Ultimately, everyone decides for themselves what they do or not.

Everyone has to bear the consequences of their decisions. AI manufacturers will only tell you the advantages because they want to sell their products. For me, the journey is the destination, not the result. I want to experience music. When I press a key, I am that person. I decide which key I press on the MIDI keyboard and for how long. I don't want a robot to do this for me!

Well, this is an incorrect comparison, FL Studio, Ableton and Logic are all very high end purified gems and hardly one could choose from except for a few minor things of taste but when talking about quality, Suno is backward and a good product doesn't stay behind in terms of quality and always learn to fix fundamental things the others fixed at least, but Suno quality is garbage since 2-3 years despite it is the first AI platform. It is just stupid to say as long as people like it because music is not just a matter of liking It is a science, otherwise music bands don't need to invest in learning and buying instruments for it. Music should be considered as hard work despite AI and as quoted from Producer aka Riffusion server: “you can make bad AI music just as you can make bad music recording.” In terms of Sonauto, It is not directed to people seeking one-click music, It designed for prompt engineers, and it will not produce high quality songs unless you give it a good direction or continue to experiment. You can already deduct that from the fact that is making songs by parts and making songs by parts is much better than sticking to one-shot deep fakeness. In the end, the more creativity you give AI the more it will bring back, but Suno spectral quality is trash and the flat frequency response of it is hard to believe.

I think I posted in a similar thread some example. It's not that it writes the lyrics, it also composes and makes the music. It's crazy indeed.

An Spanish streamer made a contest with AI-generated songs made by his followers. Except the lyrics, it was all about the laughs. The average song was named "My Ass Hair", so go figure the lyrics

This is probably the most serious song of the contest. It's actually good:
