You folks using Kontakt “Komplete Start?”

    A hard drive wipe caused me to go from Kontakt 5.6 to 8.6.1 overnight, so I'm in over my head.

    I'm starting again with 0 libraries and no experience with all the new "Kontrol" + "Native Access" and other crap I've never touched, assuming they would ruin my working libraries.

    1. Q: Should I start with this “new Komplete Start” product? Or is this flirting with future disaster?

    I will not ruin working libraries (as there's nothing to ruin), but you might need to reinstall the k'd Kontakt after setting up Player and the libraries.

    Apart from that, if there's anything you fancy in the Start collection then go for it. Raum is absolutely fantastic "effect" reverb, Replika ain't half bad, there are some solid basics in Factory Selection, and I quite like Ethereal Earth for some backing pad layers.

    Thanks Will! My main interests are: Replika and Raum!! :) I'll have to check out Ethereal Earth while I'm at it.

    I learned that I have a lot to learn.

    I deleted Native Access from my system since it put everything in "Demo" mode. Had success with the add library scripts so I'll sally forth with those little gems.

    I realized my question was annoying after posting it so thanks for responding! :)
